1. Show the pictures of cartoons: What kind of movies are they ?
2. Talk about their favorite cartoons.
What is your favorite cartoon?
Why do you like it?
3. Let students watch the cartoon <Steamboat Willie .
Watch the cartoon, then ask:
T: Was he lucky or unlucky? S: Unlucky.
4. Introduce Mickey and learn the new words: famous, unlucky, character.
StepⅡ. Read for the first time.
Find out the main idea of each paragraph.
Ss read the passage quickly and choose an answer.

Students read the passage carefully ,finish the time line.
Check the answers and understand“come out”, and introduce Walt Disney.
