Is it fantastic to work as a volunteer? b. Is it important to support the Special Olympics World Games? Step2 Presentation 1.Present the following sentences: a. It is fantastic to work as a volunteer. b. It is important to support the Special Olympics World Games. 2. Ask the students to conclude the rules, and understand the meaning of the structure: We use “It is +adj.+to-infinitive” to express about something. Step3 practice 1. Complete the exercise on page84. 2. Once students have finished, choose some students to write down the answers on the blackboard. Check the answers together and ask students to read the whole sentences loudly. Step4 Presentation 1. Show a questionnaire about the Special Olympics and ask the students to help Liu Ming complete the questionnaire. 2. Show the sentences in the questionnaire such as: It is important for volunteers to work hard. 3. Tell students that: we use “It is + adj. + for...+to-infinitive” to specify who we’re talking about. Step5 Exercises 1. Finish the exercises on page 85, then check in pairs. Encourage students to explain the usage each other. 2. Do more exercises: e.g.: He learns English well. It is very important. It is very important for him to learn English well. Step6 Presentation 1. Show another questionnaire about the Special Olympics and ask the students to complete the questionnaire for Li Hai’s father 2.show the sentence structure and help the students conclude: We use “It is + adj.+ of...+to-infinitive” to express what we think of someone’s actions.
