Step1.Introduction
1. show a map of the world to the students. Ask them to find the seven continents and four oceans.
2. Ask the students:
Who has been to Thailand/Korea/Malaysia/Singapore/Japan?
Which country would you like to visit the countries above?
3. Tell the students the Chinese history briefly.
Students may answer the questions according to their experience.
Help the students learn a lot about China and other countries.
Step2 Presentation.
1 .Discuss the Chinese culture .such as the Great Wall, the Giant panda ,the Chinese spring festival etc.
2.Then comes to the comic strip.
Eddie and Hobo are visiting the Great Wall. What do they think of it?
Answer the questions:
(1) He thinks it is amazing.
(2) No, he doesn’t.
(3) No, I don’t think so.
Some of them act the conversation.
Step 3.Ask and answer
(1) What does Hobo think of the Great Wall?
(2) Does Eddie like visiting the Great Wall?
(3) Do you think will Eddie continue to the end?
Students may answer the questions according to their experience.
Help the students learn more about Chinese things and interesting places.
Step4 Practice
2. Ask the students follow the tape. Then read the conversation together.
Ask some pairs to act it.
Step5 Presentation
1. Show some pictures about the Chinese things and Chinese interest places to students. Ask them to talk about them. Write the correct names under the pictures. After that, check the answers.
2. Discussion
What places of interest have you been to in China?
Do you know where these cities and villages are in China?
Can you tell us something about those places?
Homework:
a. Recite the dialogue of the comic trip.
b. Get ready for Reading: Two cities in China.
c. Learn new words of Unit Three.
