Lesson 23 The Giant(Ⅱ) ┃教学整体设计┃ 【教学目标】 1.掌握文中单词peek,softly,scene,selfish,knock,spread,neck,wicked并能熟练记忆。 2.掌握重点短语和句型: 重点短语:see sb. doing sth./make a decision/knock down/so...that/run away/try to do sth./stretch out/at once/along with/no longer 重点句型:The giant saw that more children were crawling through a hole in the wall./The giant made a decision and went out to his garden./They were so scared that they all ran away./At once the tree broke out in blossom./Along with them came the spring. 3.理解课文意思并能回答课后的问题。 4.能够独立读懂简单的英文故事。 【教学重难点】 重点:掌握文中重点短语和句型。 难点:能准确应用本课中的词汇:peek,softly,scene,selfish,knock,spread,neck,wicked。 【课前准备】 多媒体,黑板,录音机 ┃教学过程设计┃ 教学过程   一、创设情境,切入主题 Step 1:Leading­in Teacher shows a picture of a beautiful garden,then talks with the students. T:What did the giant see when he jumped out of his bed? Ss:Maybe there is no longer winter in his garden T:What happened to the garden in the end? Ss:I think maybe the giant will get along well with the kids. T:Yes!You are very clever!Now let’s begin the study of the passage. 设计意图:新课开始,教师通过设计几个学生感兴趣的问题导入新课,能调动他们的学习积极性。   二、展开过程,探究新知 Step 2:Showing Aims 知识目标:peek,softly,scene,selfish,knock,spread,neck,wicked 能力目标:能准确应用本课中的词汇,掌握文中重点短语和句型。 重点短语:see sb. doing sth./make a decision/knock down/so...that/run away/try to do sth./stretch out/at once/along with/no longer 重点句型: 1.The giant saw that more children were crawling through a hole in the wall. 2.The giant made a decision and went out to his garden. 3.They were so scared that they all ran away. 4.At once the tree broke out in blossom. 5.Along with them came the spring. 设计意图:让学生明确学习目标,便于对重点知识的掌握。 Step 3:Self­learning Self­learning Guide(1) T:Read the words(peek,softly,scene,selfish,knock,spread,neck,wicked)by yourselves and learn by heart.Then let’s have a dictation.Who can do it best? Self­learning Guide(2) 设计意图:教师以比赛的形式记单词,学生记得快。可以激发学生们的学习热情。 T:Read the passage in pairs and answer the following questions. Why were the children so scared of the giant? Why does the giant not drive the children away? Why does the giant knock the wall? 设计意图:通过学生们反复朗读课文,加深学生对课文的理解,同时也锻炼学生们总结归纳的能力。 Step 4:Drill Read the story and do Exercise 1 and Exercise 2 on Page 59. 设计意图:通过学生们反复朗读课文,加强了学生们的记忆,锻炼学生们的判断能力和思考能力,同时培养学生的语感。   三、布置作业 完成课本59页练习3。 ┃教学小结┃ 【板书设计】 Lesson 23 The Giant(Ⅱ) Main phrases: see sb. doing sth. make a decision knock down so...that run away try to do sth. stretch out at once along with no longer Main sentences: 1.The giant saw that more children were crawling through a hole in the wall. 2.The giant made a decision and went out to his garden. 3.They were so scared that they all ran away. 4.At once the tree broke out in blossom. 5.Along with them came the spring.
