Step1 Revision
Revise the contents learnt last period and have a dictation.
Step 2 Presentation
Ask the students how they usually go to….Help them to answer:I usually take the bus/ a taxi/ the train/ the subway…/ride a bike/ walk…Teach the ways of expressing and pay attention to the use of “by”
Practice
Translate the following:
乘公共汽车 乘火车 坐地铁 骑自行车 步行
Step 3 1a Matching
Let the students match the activities with the time of day,check the answers.
Step 4 1b Practice
Let the students ask and answer in pairs according to 1a and the dialogue in 1b.
Ask some pairs to act out their dialogues.
Step 5 1c listen and check
1.Students read the names together ,making sure they understand them.
2.Play the tape for the students to listen and check the things Mary wants to know.
3.Listen again and check how Bob gets to his grandparents’ home.
4.Check the answers.
Step 6 Practice
Ask and answer questions about the students in your class like this:
