Step I Class Opening
Greet the students and have a free talk with them.
Step II Review
Show some exercises on the PPT and then check the answers .Check homework.
Step III New Concepts
1. Lead-in
Show the students a video. It aims to tell the students that they can do something interesting after class.

Read and recite.
3.Listening
Play the audiotape. Let the students listen to the tape and number the pictures in part 1. Then check the answers as a class.
4. Read and answer
Ask students to read the text twice and answer four questions in part 2. They can do group work to talk about the questions. Check the answers as a class.
5. Language points
Explain the language points.
(1)“There is/are +某物+某地”表示“某地有某物”。
e.g:There is a big apple tree in front of the house.
(2)make…from…意为“用……制成……”,指经过一个复杂的过程,制成某物,而且制成的物品的材质看起来与原来的材料有差别。make…with…表示“用……制成……”,制成的物品的材质看起来与原来的材料很接近。
e.g:People make paper from wood.

(3)on one’s own意为“单独,独自地,独立地”,与alone和by oneself同义。
e.g:I am on my own today.=I am alone today.
Tom can do it on his own.=Tom can do it by himself.
(4)take part in意为“参加,参与”,指参加某种活动、会议等。join 指“参加,加入”,指参加某种组织、党派等。
e.g:How many countries will take part in the World Cup?
