2. Mr Black, Mrs Black and their son
This is Mr Black. He is a fat policeman.,but he can run very fast. His wife is Mrs Black. She is a nice lady. She is a nurse. Mr and Mrs Black have a son,Kim. He is a pupil. He is tall and thin. He likes to sing and draw pictures. In his school,teachers call him Kim Black.
3. Happy birthday
Nancy: Cici,your new blouse is very beautiful.
Cici: Thank you. It’s a present from my mother. Today is my birthday.
Nancy: Happy birthday to you! How old are you?
Cici: I’m ten years old. Hello,Tom and Tim!

M2 Me,my family and friends
1. My friend
Thomas is my best friend. He’s a hard-working student. He studies hard. He’s smart too. He learns new things quickly. He’s getting fatter now. He’s 130cm tall but weighs 47kg. He wants to be fitter so he does exercises every day to get slimmer.
2. The best dad in the world
I’m Jill. My father is kind and funny. He is the best dad in the world.
Dad takes my brother Paul and me to the movie on Saturdays. Mum stays home and rests. Sometimes Dad takes the whole family for a picnic. We eat nice food and then Dad plays games with Paul and me.
Dad helps look after my bike. He helps me clean my bike and he teaches me how to fix it.
Dad likes telling jokes. He is very funny. He makes me laugh.
I love my dad very much.
3. A happy family
I have a happy family. It’s not very big,but it is full of love and happiness. There are four people in my family. They are my father,my mother,my sister and I. We all love each other.
My father is a doctor. He loves his work. He helps people. He is busy every day. In his spare time,he likes reading and writing books. My mother is a teacher. She is kind to her students. Every day she goes to work early. She is not only a teacher but also a friend to the students. My sister and I are pupils. We are in the same class. We are the same age. We are twins.
I have a happy family.

M3 Places and activities
1. An open day
Good morning,parents. Welcome to Super School. You can go to see your children’s works in their classrooms. There’s a dance show in the dancing room. The dancing room is between the music room and the toilet. There’s a magic show in the school hall too. It’s behind the swimming pool. You can also take your children to the playground to play games. Enjoy the open day. Thank you!

2. Shopping for my father
I’m Alice. My father’s birthday is coming. I want to buy a present for him. Now I’m in Parkson Department Store.
Shop assistant: Good afternoon. Can I help you?
Alice: I’d like to buy a tie. It’s for my father.
Shop assistant: Well. How is this yellow tie?
Alice: Oh,it’s so nice. How much?
Shop assistant: 120 yuan.
Alice: Oh! Too expensive.
Shop assistant: How is this blue one? It’s only 55 yuan.
Alice: Yes. It’s cheap. And it’s also very nice. I’d like this one. Here’s the money.
Shop assistant: Here’s the change.
Alice: Thanks a lot. Bye-bye.

3. A day in the park
It’s Saturday. Rita and Zoe take some food and go to the park. There are many people in it.
Rita and Zoe go to the playground. Zoe plays football with some children. Rita flies a kite. Then they sit under the tree and have their food.
In the afternoon,they play with the insects in the sky. The butterflies are colourful and beautiful. The ladybirds are small and cute. Zoe collects some ladybirds and shows them to Rita.
At five o’clock,they go home. They’re tired but happy.

M4 The natural world
1. Insects
Is a spider an insect? The answer is No! Because a spider has eight legs,but an insect has six legs.
Lots of insects have wings,such as bees,butterflies,dragonflies,ladybirds and so on. Insects are hatched from eggs. They are born as caterpillars and end as butterflies!

2. Guess who I am
I am black and white. I give milk. Guess who I am. It’s me,the cow. I have a red comb. I lay eggs. Guess who I　Ｉlike mud. Guess who I am. It’s me,the pig! I eat bones. I chase cats. Guess who I am. It’s me,the sheep. I have horns. I eat anything. Guess who I am. It’s me,the billy goat! I feed everyone on the farm. Guess who I am. It’s me,the farmer! We are all members of this farm family.

3. Pets in different countries
More and more people like to keep pets these days.
In Australia,people have a lot of time to keep pets. They like dogs best. And they also like cats,birds and fish.
As to American people,they’re so busy. So they prefer to keep cats because it’s easy to feed them. And even some of them keep lizards and snakes.
The most popular pets in Japan are dogs and cats. Fish are popular too,especially goldfish.
So people in different countries like different pets.

4. How do seeds travel?
Seeds have not feet or wings. But some seeds are good travelers. This is a dandelion seed. How does this seed travel？ The wind helps this seed travel. “Whee! Farther! Farther!” This is a pussy willow tree seed. How does this seed travel? The river helps this seed travel! “Watch me float!” This is a cherry seed. How does this seed travel? The bird helps this seed travel. The bird’s droppings carry the seed to the ground far away. Some seeds are really good travelers. “Thank you for the ride!”
