Unit 9 I like the music that I can dance to. (Period One 1a—2b) Teaching Aims: ※ Ss can use “that,which,who,whom,whose”to finish attributive clauses correctly. ※ Ss can talk about the exact things they like in English. ※ Ss would like to communicate with others about their life. Language Notes: ※ The usage of that,which,who,whose,whom Teaching Process: Step one:Lead In ·Free talk T:Its getting colder now,we need to wear more clothes .At the beginning of this lesson ,Lets talk about clothes.Please think of adjectives which can describle clothes. Ss:thick,comfortable,beautiful,inexpensive… T takes notes on the blackboard as Ss say. Step two:Presentation ·Make sentences T:As for me,I like clothes that are comfortable.What kind of clothes do you like? Ss make sentences like “I like the clothes that/which are___.” T asks:Why do we use “are”in the sentence? ( The first grammar point:the form of the verb depends the antecedent) T presents another sentence:I like the clothes that/which I bought last year. Ss compare it with the previous ones and find out the differences. (The second grammar point: If the antecedent is the objective of the clauses,it needn’t appear.) T:If we really want to be beautiful,we need to pay more attention to the personality.Actually there are some really nice students in our class.Next,I will describle them and you guess . She is a girl. She is the girl who wears glasses. She is the girl who is outgoing. She is? Ss describe one of their friends in the class,others guess. T presents four sentences with “who that whom whose”in them,Ss compare them and find the differences. Step Three:Exercise and consolidation ·T shows some exercises,Ss have several minutes to finish them. Check answers. ·Listening Practice Come to 1b,1c and2a,2b. Step Four:Summary ·T guides Ss to sum up what we have learnt in this lesson. Homework:Make conversations about music that you like.
