It is a movie that says a deceiver whose name is Roy Waller ( Nicholas Cage ) is deceived by his close colleague and hearted ‘daughter’.
Roy who is an transnational deceiver is a seeming patient with the obsession , feeling uncomfortable outdoors and can’t bearing any tiny of dirty which is actually unseen . Because of this , he often sees his psychologist . One day , a 14-year-old girl , called Angela , acted by Alison Lohman , suddenly come to Roy's world . She changes his life and brings happiness to him . Roy find himself gradually love his suddenly girl, and will devote his everything to her . Audience may think it is a common movie about relatives until here . However ,some surprising things happen . His companion , daughter ,psychologist and someone who he believed ever are cheating him for his money. He loses his all money at a night .
In this fraud , Roy is a failure . However , he beats himself and becomes a winner in life . In the end of the story, Roy doesn't sell his intrigues, but sell ordinary goods. When seeing Angle feel embarrassed at an occasional place , Roy forgive Angle , just like a father forgiving his careless little princess . There will be a warm stream coming to every viewer.
After seeing the film , I ask myself what is the most valuable in the world . Money ? I don’t dare to accept it . When Roy is a millionaire , he is not happy and upset . However , he lives a happy life when he has nothing . What changes him ? I think it is love for daughter and looking forward to warm family to change him . During the time with Angela , Roy finds the things he actually wants and values . Losing money and colleague is a good chance for him to change his life . He can say bye-bye to his past with this chance and seek the life he wants relaxedly .
It is lucky of Roy to have a warm family lastly . But people won’t be all lucky like Roy who Angela saves . We should know what we want in fact and don’t miss them.
