What I have taken from Forrest Gump is the mom’s love and wisdom. Mother’s love is so moving that I missed my mom very much when I watched the movie.
Forrest is an unfortunate man whose IQ is only 75, below the average. What’s worse, his leg has muscle problem. Whereas, his mom doesn’t abandon him. His mother tells him that he has no difference from others and strives for normal rights for Gump. Much to my surprise, she teaches Forrest according to his aptitude. She says, “Stupid is as stupid does.” When she will die, she is very calm. She says, “It’s my time. It's just my time. Oh, now, don't you be afraid sweetheart. Death is just a part of life, something we're all destined to do. I didn't know it. But I was destined to be your momma. I did the best I could.” Of course she has done the best. It is she that teaches Forrest to begin a new life. How great she is!
In my view, without his mother, Forrest wouldn’t try to change his destiny and create so many miracles. So, what left a deep impression on me is his mom’s love and wisdom.
