A few days ,I saw a cartoon which vividly describes a picture,showing that thousands of hands are fighting for a chair high above which represents a public official position. This apparently reveals the “job hunting”problem in today’s society.Employment has become a prominent issue facing university students and a number of students’ for one job is also not an uncommom phenomenon.but the art set the position to the “civil servant” in order to reveal a deeper meaning. The fervor was echoed by a People's Daily survey that found that 68.5 percent of respondents favor civil service posts when making career choices. About the same percentage of those polled believe the desire for "power," or official posts, pervades Chinese society today. Once upon a time ,the civil service candidates were few.but now there are thousands of candidates seeking for the same position. The craze is making a comeback after several years when attaining a place in a foreign-funded company was the first choice, and it reflects a change taking place in the minds of young people in light of the bigger economic picture.Since the global financial crisis hit developed economies in 2008, stability has again become the top concern for many job hunters in China. The jobs in sectors other than civil service are insecure and unstable, and employees have to work under greater stress faced with growing competitions in the workplace and the industry. Some government departments are related to monopolized industries and civil servants can enjoy unusually high salaries and welfare benefits.meanwhile, To some extent, this craze is a modern revival of the ancient notion that “those who excel in academics end up in officialdom.” government officials are usually regarded as occupying the highest rung of the social hierarchy and a student who succeeds in becoming government official is considered the pride of the family, adding prestige and glory to the entire clan.so it is inevitable for colledge students to apply for civil service employment. The exam includes an aptitude test and a written essay on policy, and successful candidates go on to an interview after passing these portions of the exam.Government posts are sought after for the stability they offer, as employment pressure has increased in recent years.Yin said 90 percent of civil servants are working in mid-level administrations, and 60 percent serve at the county level or below."Civil servants at the county level will be promoted and receive greater benefits if they work hard," Yin said.According to the ministry, 188,000 people were recruited as civil servants in 2012, and 18,000 worked in central government bodies and 170,000 in local regions.In 2012, more recruits had work experience at grassroots-level posts, and nearly all the posts above the provincial level were filled by people with more than two years of work experience, the ministry said Yang Shiqiu, vice-minister of human resources and social security, said the quality of civil servants has improved in recent years. Ninety-two percent of public servants acquired undergraduate degrees or higher level degrees, and 26 percent of recruits were younger than 35.Around 1.1 million candidates took the national civil service exam on Nov 25, an increase of 150,000 from 2011, according to the State Administration of Civil Service.One in every 53 examinees will successfully obtain a government post, according to the administration.  Personally, the desire to be a government official is beyond reproach as the nation and the people do need an injection of new blood into the civil service sectors. The fresh-faced college graduates, armed with lofty ideals, new vision, and strong drive, are undoubtedly among the best candidates All in all ,students who are facing employment problem should first view employment in perspective and be in principle of full developing their talent when getting a job.secondly, the social payment mechanism should make appropriate adjustment to make other industry more attractive.this can not only change phenomenon that more people are fighting for the same job,but also be an excellent way to maintain social stability.
