1. 精疲力尽 I'm really beat
I'm really beat. I'd better take a rest before I continue to finish the rest of the work.
Diven注释：I'm really beat。我真的精疲力尽了。特别注意：beat除开可以作动词“击败”之外，还可以作形容词，表示“精疲力尽”。类似的说法还有很多：I'm exhausted./I'm dead beat./ I'm worn out/ I'm tired out/ I'm whacked./ I'm stressed out.

2. 累坏了 be maxed out
I'm working 70 hours this week. I'm totally maxed out.
Diven注释："max" 是「极限」的意思。用"be maxed out" 来表示一个人累惨了应该是蛮贴切的哦! 

3. 火冒三丈 pissed (off)  
Frank-- Are you angry at Nancy because she kept your video too long?
Diven-- No. I lent her my favorite tape and she recorded over it. That really pissed me off.
Diven注释： "pissed off" 是「很生气」的意思, 在程度上要比 "angry" 强烈。"I'm so pissed off at you.", 就是「你让我火冒三丈」的意思。"piss" 其实是「尿尿」的意思(= pee)。亲，此语稍不雅，郑重场合请慎用。

4. 游泳圈，腰间赘肉 love handles
You'd better lose those love handles fast. I'm tired of having so much to hold on to.
Diven注释：love handles 游泳圈，腰间赘肉。handle 作动词时，本身有“抓,握”的意思；做名词是，是茶壶等器具的“把柄”的意思，指的是“手可以握住或者抓住”的地方。当一个美女由于暴饮暴食变得充满肉感的时候，她腰间的肉就变得可以handle 了。所以，love handle 就是身上的“游泳圈”，这个说法很形象吧。

5. 小憩放松kick back  
I'm really beat. I wish I could be kicking back at the beach right now.
Diven注释： kick back and relax 小憩放松。还有一个词组叫 "lay back", 它的意思也是「放轻松」的意思。 beach 海滩。

6. 酷毙了 dynamite  
Tyler-- Hey, dude. You did a good job. That was some dynamite presentation you gave.
Diven--I'm flattered.
Diven注释： "dynamite" 本来是「炸药」的意思, 不过口语里面有把它当作形容词「很好」的意思, 就像上面的例句一样。例句里的"some"在在这里是表示后面所跟的形容词的“某种”程度。当然, "dynamite"既然是「炸药」当然可以表示“危险的”:"Don't touch it. It's dynamite."。 

7. 透露消息 fill someone in
Diven-- Really? You and Scott got married? Fill me in. It's been five years. I thought you used to think he was the biggest geek in the world.
Amanda-- I know. I was really an immature little girl back then. I never really cared to know who he was. I'm glad that I finally grew up. Scott is such a wonderful person.

Diven注释："fill someone in" 是透露给某个人一些事情(内幕、消息等), 让对方可以对一些事情的情况有所了解。 geek指善于钻研但不喜社交的怪才，可音译为“极客”。

8. 紧跟时尚 get with it!
Diven-- You know. I noticed that almost everyone in my class owns a iPhone5.
Tyler-- In that case,I'd better get with it.
Diven注释：get with it紧跟时尚，潮流。这里的 it 就是代指潮流，时尚。in that case 那样的话，倘若如此。

9. 游手好闲 screw around
Amanda-- Quit screwing around and go find a job.
Scott--If I could, I would have done that long ago.
Diven注释： "screw around" 是“游手好闲”的意思。"screw around" 还有一个意思是指一个人在感情上的不专情, 同时和很多人来往，即“鬼混”。例如: "After he met Susan, he stopped screwing around." 。特别提示：劳请各位大爷大婶注意虚拟语气的用法和动词时态的正确把握。

10. 出人头地 go places
Diven-- This kid is definitely going places someday. I could see a little giant in him.
Amanda-- I don't know about that. I guess he can be anything he wants to be, as long as he's happy.
Diven注释: go places 出人头地，大有前途。与之相反的词语是 "go nowhere", 哪里都去不了, “没有前途，没有出息，没出路”的意思。例如:"Diven always believes in his life that a lazy man is going nowhere." 译文：Diven终生相信，懒惰的人是不会有出路的。
