And then we will have 3 memory challenges. 1 Overview Task assignment Introduce your family in this talk show. 1 1 Explisit objectives To fulfill the task, we need to: 1. Review and learn the words about family members: father, mother, brother, sister, grandfather (grandpa), and grandmother (grandma). 2. Review some adjectives: good, nice, old, happy, tall, and cool. 3. Know the pronunciation of “er” and some words about occupation with “er”, like teacher, singer, and player. 3. Know how to introduce our family: This is my family. Look! This is my ____. He’s / She’s ____. I love him / her. 4. Introduce ourselves: Hello! I’m … I’m 9 years old. I’m from China. Presentation Lead in 1. Watch a video about my family. 2 15 Review [Challenge 1] T: Who’s that man / woman? Ss: She is father / mother. 1 Presentation 1. Present: I love him. I love her. ① Phonics: h- i – m, h – er ② Remember your “passwords”---‘I love him/her”. 2. Present: brother ① Phonics: mother – other – brother ② This is my brother. He’s tall. He’s a player. [Extension: teacher, singer] ③ Password: I love him. 3. Present: grandmother (grandma), grandfather (grandpa) [Challenge 2] ① Choose the right words for the pictures. ② Phonics: mama (means mother) – ma papa (means father) – pa green – gr – and – grand – grandmother – grandma – grandfather – grandpa (read these words with cards) ③ Look and say: This is my grandpa / grandma. He’s / She’s old / happy. (Passwords: I love her. / I love him.) 4. Present: sister [Challenge 3] ①Phonics: singer (She’s a singer.) – er – ter, six – si – sit – sis. ②This is my sister. She’s nice. I love her 12 Engagement Individual work 1. Read these words after the recording. T: Now I want to make a family tree. Do you know what a family tree is? Please open your book and turn to page 18. Here is a family tree. 2. Quick response 3 13 Pair work Guessing game: Student A chooses a picture as his/her family photo and talk about it to his / her partner. Student B guesses which picture it is. 4 Group work Show the picture of your family and talk about it in groups. It should contains 2 parts. First introduce yourself and then introduce your family members. 6 Summary Task fulfillment Talk about your family in the Talk Show. 3 7 Feed back Make comments on the performance. 1 Summary What have we learnt in this lesson? 1.
