     Each car must spend one day a week off the road, decided by the ending numbers. Beijing people miss the last August because of the clean air and quiet streets during the Olympic Games. The rules help to take about 800,000 cars off the road every day. Later, some new rules came in to use on Monday morning —any car with a number plate(车牌号码)ending in 1 or 6 could not drive into the city. On Tuesday it will be the turn of the cars with number plates ending in 2 and 7. The rules will be first used for six months until April. It was reported that it was the cleanest August in Beijing in the last 10 years. But the government faces another problem —1,000 new cars began to run in the streets every day.
