Simple past tense
一般过去时

e.g.:
（1）He worked very hard last year.
去年他很用功。
（2）Mr. Smith bought a new car yesterday.
史密斯先生昨天买了一辆新车。
（3）They were here only a few minutes ago.
几分钟前他们还在这里。
常用于修饰一般过去时的时间副词有
yesterday
yesterday morning （afternoon, evening）
just now
before
then （at that time）
last＋时间 （如 last week, month）
时间＋ago （如 a few minutes ago, two weeks ago , years ago,… ）
只要所表达的时间与说话时的“现在”形成对立，就必须使用一般过去时来表达
e.g.:
He was here only a few minutes ago.
仅仅几分钟前他还在这里。
I came home just now.
我刚回到家。
I got up very early this morning.
今天早晨我起床很早。
He was late for school again today.
今天他又迟到了。

1. a street sweeper: This person sweeps the streets and collect rubbish and empty the rubbish bins.
2. a baker: This person bakes bread and cakes.
3. a newspaper seller: This person sells newspapers.
4. a flower seller: This person sells flowers.
  How to describe a person’s job and find out if he/she likes it?

（五）路上看到了什么人？
Think:
1. When do you see these people?
2. Who do you see on your way? Do you see anyone you know?
3. What do these people do?

Example:
On my way to school
Every morning, I see a lot of people on my way to school.
I see the policemen standing in the streets. They help make our city a safe place.
I see Miss Lu selling milk. She has a milk shop. I see students buying milk from her.
I see Mr Wang. He is a postman. I see him…

Write a composition about what you see on your way home from school.
On my way home from school

答案：
On my way home from school
Every afternoon, I see a lot of people on my way home from school.
I see Mr Gu driving a bus. He is a bus driver. I see people getting on and off the bus.
I see Miss Li cooking food. She is a cook. I see people having dinner.
I see Mrs Li sweeping the streets. She is a street cleaner. She sweeps the street and collects rubbish.
