They are used to the direction “I read for one time, you read for two times”
Lesson duration: 40 minutes

Step1 Revision
T: Good morning /afternoon/evening boys and girls. Now look at me.
(Teacher shows a pen/a pencil/a bag/a book)Class, what’s this?
Step 2 presentation:“CAKE”&“HAPPY BIRTHDAY”
T:OK,class, what’s this?(showing a cake with a picture)
Ss: …
T:En, read after me“cake”c-a-k-e.(showing the card with pictures ,and which is written by two styles of Chinese and English ;Then speak“cake” loudly , slowly, and clearly. At that time, write“cake”on the blackboard. )(read each for 3 times.)
T:Ok,look at this , it is a cake, and it is Sam’s birthday,b-i-r-t-h-d-a-y, and we should say“happy birthday”to Sam(give a picture which shows Sam’s birthday, and speak “birthday” , “happy”and “happy birthday” loudly, slowly and clearly. At that time, write “happy birthday”on the blackboard .)OK, I read for one time, you read for two times. Let’s begin.
Step 3 Drill
T: Now, I will divide you into two groups,(do with body language)let’s see who can read loudly ?(do the action that read“birthday”loudly, but not gentle )and when the others read ,you don’t.(do with body language)
T: OK, you all did a good job! (Do with body language)
T: Then I say “happy”, you say“birthday”,and we say “happy birthday” together.(Showing the picture “Sam’s birthday”. And do with body language )
T:Then, let’s listen to a song, and sing together.(teacher and students sing together)
Step 4 Presentation: “Here’s your: …”
T:Ok. Look at this picture(showing the picture with the sentence“Happy birthday! Sam. Here’s your cake/with Chinese /)
T: Read after me“Here, h-e-r-e.” “Here is your cake.”(write the sentence on the blackboard.)we can also read it like this“Here’s your cake”(read each for 3 times.)
T: OK. We can change the word “cake” into “bag/pen/pencil/book”(do the action to explain how to change ) e.g. Sam,here’s your bag/pen/pencil/book.
Step 5 Drill
T:OK,class,look,here’s your ….(Do with body language)
Ss:Bag/pen/pencil/book…
T: Then you can do that like me (Direct student to take one thing, and say the sentence correctly. )
Step 6 Practice
1. Read the words and do with teacher.( showing with the pictures and cards.)
2. Send birthday wishes to their classmates ,and use the sentence“Here’s your”e. …g. “Hello! ***, Happy birthday !Here’s your …”
Step 7 Consolidation
1. Read new words following the teacher.
2. Let’s sing the birthday song together.
Step 8 Homework
1. Read the new words and sentences for three times.
2. Send birthday wishes to your family members.
