Teaching aids: A computer, a blackboard, a tape-recorder Ⅵ. Teaching procedures: Step I Brainstorming 1. Greetings 1. Let the students enjoy some pictures about healthy young man and woman and ask whether look good and feel good. 2. Talk about a funny picture 3. Talk about the pictures of people with weight problems Step Ⅱ Discussion 1. Ask Ss to discuss the reasons of weight problems : 1). Improper diet 2). Irregular exercise 3) improper amount of sleep 4) lack of confidence 2. Get the Ss to talk about the disadvantages of weight problems Step Ⅲ listening A 1. Read part A and answer questions 1).Who are the characters in the dialogue? 2). What are they talking about? Why? 3) What are the listening points? 2. Listen to part A and finish the table 3. look at the listening text and check the answers Step Ⅳ Listening B 1. Before listening, ask the students to give suggestions to Jia Hua about his weight problems ● Don’t feel upset about the weight. ● Have a healthy diet ● Get regular exercise. ● Follow the doctor’s advice. 2.
