Teaching Procedures Teaching Procedures Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities Designing Intention Step One Greeting& Review The teacher helps review the sentence structures: What are you doing for vacation? When are you going? Who are you going with? How long are you staying? in Unit 3. Ss listen &answer. Review the sentence structures in Unit 3 Step Two Leading-in 1.T says: “ How about me? Where am I going ? Do you know? Please guess.” (Shanghai) 2.T asks: “How can I get to Shanghai? Please listen and guess.” Show pictures on the screen. 3.Show more pictures and practice the phrases. 1.Ss will give different answers . 2.Ss listen and try to say the names of transportation. 3.Ss practice the phrases. 1.Review the names of transportation. 2.Present the key words and key structures : car, ship, plane, train, subway take the … ride the bike walk Step Three Presentation T says : “Do you go to school from Monday to Friday? So, how do you get to school?”and helps Ss to answer. Ss answer with T’s help T presents the target languages: How do you get to …? I take the …? I ride the bike I walk. and Ss learn the target languages. Step Four Pairwork T says: “Now work in pairs. Talk about your own life. ” Have the Ss to work in pairs and make new conversations. Ss make new conversations with their partners. Check if the Ss can make conversations freely by using the target languages. Step Five Presentation After Ss act their conversations out, T asks : “ How does he/she get to school?” Write down the question on the Bb. Ss answer with the help of the teacher. T presents the target languages: How does he/she get to … ? He/She takes the ...? He/She rides the bike. He/She walks. Step Six Pairwork Get the Ss fill in the blanks according to the pictures. Ss look at the pictures and fill in the blanks. Get ready for the listening practice. Step Seven Listening practice 1.Get the Ss to look at the picture in 1a and say: “ Listen and write the numbers next to the correct students in the picture.” 2.Play the tape for the second time and check their answers. 3.Ask them to complete the conversation according to the information in the picture. 1.Listen to the tape and write down their answers. 2.Complete the conversation. 3.Read it together. 1.Give Ss listening practice. 2.Give Ss practice in understanding the target languages in spoken conversation. 3.Train their listening ability for details. Step Eight Groupwork 1.Ask two Ss to make up conver- sations with T. 2.Ask them to act out. 1.Ss work in group of three and make up new conversations. 2.Ss act. Consolidate the target languages. Step Nine Summary 1.The key sentence stuctures 2.The kinds of transportation. Read through the key sentence stuctures and the kinds of transportation. Make the Ss sure what they have learned in the class. Step Ten Homework 1.Make a survey: How do your relations go to school / work? 2.Make a report according to your survey. 课后反思: 1、教材分析:本单元是新目标英语八年级上册第4单元,教材以How do you get to school?为中心话题,围绕“traffic way”展开。主要是在学习和运用某种交通工具去某地表达法的基础上,运用How long /How far询问如何到达某地,描述“去某地的交通方式、时间、距离”。本课时是本单元的第一课时,教学重点是How do you get to …?和乘坐交通工具的表达方式,为后面的学习打下基础。 其教学内容与学生的实际生活密切相关,易于引发学生运用简单的英语进行交际和交流,这对于提高学生的综合能力,特别是说的能力很有帮助。 2、补充拓展:为了让学生正确表达到达某地,熟练掌握一般现在时的用法,在本一课时中补充了一些相关的词汇,扩大学生的思维、文化视野; 补充的词汇: 交通工具类型:car, ship, taxi, plane 3、学生反映:本堂课学生积极性很高,课堂活动参与率达到百分之百。从课堂上学生的参与度和输出信息的准确率可以得知学生较好得掌握了本学时的重难点知识;从课后与学生交谈中得知学生非常喜欢这节课。他们认为在情景中学习英语很轻松,接受知识也很容易,运用时也得心应手。 4、不足之处:由于时间的关系,学生不能在本堂课上做进一步的情景交流。这个问题可以利用课外辅导的时间弥补。 4
