Step 1. Warming up
1. Greeting.
T: Hello, boys and girls, nice to meet you!
Ss: Nice to meet you, too!
T: How are you today?
Ss: I’m fine, thanks.
T: Let’s begin our class, OK?
2. Ask and answer.
T: First, I’ll show you some pictures, please look and answer my questions: Where is/are …? It is/ They are….
T: Perfect! Look.(show the box and the ball), the ball is in the box, on the box, above the box, under the box, behind the box, in front of the box.
OK, so much for the prepositions.
Step 2. Presentation and drill
1. T: Boys and girls, do you like drawing? ( Yes.)
T: OK, look, there is a boy, he likes drawing too, his name is Ma Liang, do you know him?
Ss: Yes. / I don’t know.
T: Can you say something about him? ( …)
T: Good./ It doesn’t matter. Today we’ll recognize him together, let’s look a cartoon. (Broadcast the cartoon)
2. T: Ok, please open your books, turn to page 3, listen to the tape, pay attention to the pronunciation of the words.
T: Read the story silently, and judge these sentences:
(1) Ma Liang likes drawing.
(2) He draws with brushes, ink and paper.
(3) An old man comes in his dream and gives him a brush.
(4) He uses the brush to help the poor people.
3. Learn the story:
T: In the first/second paragraph, there are some key points, please read after me.
T: Read the text after the recorder. ( Play twice if necessary)
T: Read the story freely, if you have any questions, put up your hands, I will help you.
T: Stop here. Everybody stand up, please read the story together.
T: Well done! Sit down please. Close your books, look at the screen, fill the words in the blanks, write the answers on your answer sheet.
Step 3. Practice
Play a game.
T: Do you want to play a game? (Yes.)
OK, I’ll divide the class into four groups: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
You should work together with your members to practice to read this story.
Several minutes later, each group choose a student to read the story.
The other students are umpires, you will choose the winner of this game, and this is the gift for the winner. Let’s begin:
T: Stop, please. Spring group, who?
T: All of you did a great job. Now, please tell me, who reads best? Oh, the spring/summer/autumn/winter group is the winner, everybody applaud. Congratulations! Here you are. (Give the ball to the winner.)
Step 4. Consolidation
T: So much for this class, please finish the exercises in your book after class. Thank you , bye-bye.
