(一) 说教材
本单元以Talking about consequences 为主线,要求学生初步感受条件状语从句所发生的
各种情境;初步掌握条件状语从句的句型与时态上的微妙差别。
教材的地位和作用:
条件状语从句是新课标要求必须掌握的内容,以前没有接触过,本节课为本单元的第一课时,主要以听说为主。因此,上好本节课将会为后面几课时的学习奠定良好的语言基础。
(二)说学生
八年级学生已经积累了一定的英语词汇,在老师的引导下能进行一定的语言交际活动。同时他们有一定的独立意识,易受潮流的影响。喜欢结实朋友,喜欢去热闹的场面,如参加生日聚会。大多羡慕有钱人,因此我们要适时进行德育渗透,正确引导,使之树立正确的金钱观,价值观。

1.show the learning aims, lead Ss to learn the new words and phrases

2. play a song “If you are happy.”
(If necessary, have Ss sing the song with actions. )
【设计意图:用歌曲激发学生的学习兴趣,营造轻松的学习氛围,同时让学生感知if的含义。】
3.transition :
T: If I am happy, I will sing. Tell me: If you are happy, what will you do?
(show PPt and create scene , lead Ss to practice more and more )
S1: If I am happy, I will dance.
S2: If I am happy, I will play basketball.
S3: ……
4. play a guessing game!
If she/he is/ they are happy, what will she/he/they do? (show PPT, lead Ss guess.)

StepⅢ Listening (1a 1b 2a 2b)
1. 1a & 1b
1)show PPt, lead Ss to analyze the pictures ,asking some questions
---what is the girl going to do ?
---How is she going to do ?
---If she does, what will happen?
2) have Ss predict the consequences: look for friends ( match statements with responses)
3)Listen to the tape, to check their answers to activity 1a.

2. 2a & 2b
1) Introduce the picture : The boy is Mark, and the girl is Andrea. They are going to organize a class party. Now let’s learn what will happen?
2) explain the instructions for Ss. Make sure the students know what to do.
3) let’s read the phrases together
4) listen to their talking and number the phrases in the order .
5) listen again to check the answers .
6)listen again and finish 2b
【设计意图: 2b的听力训练,为回答问题题型,对学生来说难度较大,本着“不要教教材,而是用教材”的理念,对其做略微的改变,将该题型改为选择配对,使听力有的放矢】

Lead:Money is important in our daily life ,but it isn’t everything.
【设计意图:拥有很多钱一直是令孩子兴奋的东西,抓住这个兴奋点,进行德育渗透,引导学生树立正确的价值观。】

Show some sentences, ask students to summarize the rules, then teacher summary completely.
T: If 引导的条件状语从句:主将从现。
( 即:主句用一般将来时,从句用一般现在时。)

T: Mother’s Day is coming next month. Do you want to do some things for your mother?
1. free talk: work in groups to discuss like this:
---what are you going to do if you have no lessons on that day? ---I will …if…
---If you do, what will happen ? --- If I do, my mother will …
2. ( If necessary ) have Ss work in groups to write a short passage:
My plan on Mother’s Day.
【设计意图:在大量的口语操练以及总结之后,让学生通过自由讨论或小练笔的形式,提升语言综合运用能力。】
