(一) 说教材
本单元以Talking about consequences 为主线，要求学生初步感受条件状语从句所发生的
各种情境；初步掌握条件状语从句的句型与时态上的微妙差别。
教材的地位和作用：
条件状语从句是新课标要求必须掌握的内容，以前没有接触过，本节课为本单元的第一课时，主要以听说为主。因此，上好本节课将会为后面几课时的学习奠定良好的语言基础。
（二）说学生
八年级学生已经积累了一定的英语词汇，在老师的引导下能进行一定的语言交际活动。同时他们有一定的独立意识，易受潮流的影响。喜欢结实朋友，喜欢去热闹的场面，如参加生日聚会。大多羡慕有钱人，因此我们要适时进行德育渗透，正确引导，使之树立正确的金钱观，价值观。

1. 1a & 1b
1）show PPt, lead Ss to analyze the pictures ,asking some questions

2） have Ss predict the consequences: look for friends ( match statements with responses)
3）Listen to the tape, to check their answers to activity 1a.

1) Introduce the picture : The boy is Mark, and the girl is Andrea. They are going to organize a class party. Now let’s learn what will happen?

5) listen again to check the answers .
