教学内容
The topic of this unit is “abilities”. In this “Integrated Skills” period, we will learn something about parents’ meeting. The students will have to listen to the report on Suzy, and try to do some different tasks.
In this period, some useful expressions about reports on students will be introduced too.
教学对象
The seventh grade students are not good at listening for some target information and
they are not familiar with shorthand skills. So at the beginning, I will teach students some skills about how to write down the information they need quickly and correctly. Especially focus on the Key words in the sentences.
教学目标
1. Gain the target information from listening.
2. Complete notes with the target information.
3. Talk about what you can do correctly.
教学策略
1. Integrated applications and autonomous cooperative learning.
2. Know the meaning of expressions by matching with the expressions.
3. Improve the listening skills.
4. Practise spoken English by speaking up.

To let students say something about Lin Tao.

Show some pictures of different famous people. Ask students what they can do.
And then lead in different abilities of different students.

1. To help students finish Part A1 on P87.
2. Play the recorder, ask students to complete the table in Part A2. (If necessary, the teacher can play the tape for the third time).
3. Check the answers by asking and answering.

1. Let students listen to the tape and finish PartA3.
2. Check the answers with the whole class.

Tell students that Sandy and Daniel are talking about what they can and can’t do. Listen to the conversation in Speak-up and answer some questions.

Give the students some useful expressions. Ask them to make up a new dialogue according to the Speak-up.

Finish the exercises in the workbook.
In groups

Students learn the vocabulary about different abilities of different people by watching pictures.

Read the new words after the teacher. Pay attention to the pronunciation.

Listen to tape carefully, and finish Part A3. Then check the answers.
