She wasn’t at school today. can't也表示推测,意为“不可能” 情态动词must(必须),should(应当),can(能,会), may(可以), could , might除本身的意思外,都可以表示推测。 肯定推测: must用于肯定句,表示较有把握的推测,意为“一定,准是”,后面接动词原形,表示对现在的推测。should用于肯定句中,语气次之,表示“很可能,应该”指按常理推断。can用于肯定句中,表理论上的可能性。may用于肯定句中,表示对现在把握 的推测,意为“也许,可能”could,might也可表示推测意义,常用在过去时态中,但在某些场合,为了使语气很缓和,更委婉,常用could、might代替can \may. 否定推测 can’t、couldn’t的语气最强,指“不可能”,带有惊讶、怀疑的感情色彩。 mayn’t或might not表可能不,也许不,语气较弱。 疑问句中的推测 常用can 或could,意为“可能”如:Who can it be? 5. Pairwork: Do 2c. 【训练巩固】情景交际 A. He must be seriously ill. B. No, he can’t be asleep. C. He’s hurt in a traffic accident. D. Is he OK? E. It’s sure that he needs medical help. F. He might be injured.
