as…as I can/could=as…as possible “尽可能地……”。

by the time…=when
be tired out 筋疲力尽=be worn out

3.I woke up as the sun was rising.
as 连词 当...的时候，引导时间状语从句

4. My arms, legs and hair were tied to the ground.
be tied to… 被系在… …

5. It moved up over my stomach and neck until it was standing near my face.
否定句中，谓语动词则是 Not …until 直到…才

6. I looked down and saw a very small man.
Look down 向下看 反义词 look up 向上看

the same …as…与……一样

8.I shouted at them---the loud noise made them all fall over.
noise 指噪音、嘈杂声、吵闹声；可作可数名词也可做不可数名词 voice 指人发出的声音，包括说话声、歌声、和笑声等 sound 指可以听到的任何声音

continue doing sth=continute to do 继续做某事

10. I did not know what to say either.
either 用作副词，用于否定句中作”也”解释，通常 置于句末。
either 用作代词，意为（两者之中）任一、任何一 个，作主语时，谓语动词用单数。

11.I tried to pull one hand free and finally managed to break the ropes.
try to do sth. 努力去做某事 表示想尽一切办法要把事情办成
try doing sth. 尝试着做某事 指为了达到某种目的而去尝试
manage to do sth. 设法做某事

12. When I lifted my left hand into the air.
lifted 是 lift 的过去式 意为“举起”
拓展：lift 作可数名词，意为“电梯”

13. Gulliver found himself unable to move.
unable 形容词 意为 “不能的”，只能作表语，
be unable to do sth.=be not able to do sth
