Answer them by using “be north(…) of” e.g. The school is north of the park. 2. Read the instructions. Look at the map and find the places they plan to visit. Then write the numbers in the boxes. Make dialogues: --Let’s go to … --Good idea. But where is …? --It’s …of …. --How can we get there? --We can get there by… Present the comic strip. Help the Ss understand the meaning. Eddie and Hobo also get a map. They want to go somewhere. Q: Do they know the way? 1. Listen to the comic strip. 2 Repeat the dialogue 3 Read the dialogue after the teacher. 4. Ask some students to act it out. Language points: 1. follow me 2. go up and down e.g. Let’s go down the hill together. 3. Don’t 祈使句 e.g. (1) Don’t be late for school. (2) Don’t play in the street. Present the new words by sequencing pictures. ----Look!There is a building .It’s a police station .There are 3 robbers in the police station.They are in police uniform.There is a green van nearby.In the van there is a knife.The policemen find the robbers at the traffic lights. Q-Why are the robbers in police uniform in the police station?Can you guess? Let Ss read the title and the whole story, and then answer the questions: e.g. Who are the two boys? How did Paul and Justin escape? What are their routes? … Listen to the tape, Ss read after the tape, then do some exercises. Ask Ss to find more new words 1.catch: take hold of a person or an animal 2.fail: not be successful in doing sth. 3.quickly: fast(similar words) 4.suddenly: quickly and unexpectedly 5.surprised: experiencing or showing a feeling of surprise 6.work: function, operate Using the phrases on the screen to retell or act out the play as possible.
