T: Where do the students live?    S1: In the tall buildings.

1. Show students a map of Sunshine Town.

Answer them by using “be north(…) of”
e.g. The school is north of the park.

A-Look at the map of Baoying, ask and answer in pairs. e.g. T:Where is the garden?
   S: The garden is north-west of the zoo.
Ask students to practise like that.the teacher can use the screen to add a church,library, café, men’s and ladies’s rooms and video shop.
B-Get the students to introduce the places of their homes .
e.g. My home is north of Baoying
Welcome to the unit P39. The Class 1, Grade 7 students are planning a spring outing. Read the instructions.
Look at the map and find the places they plan to visit. Then write the numbers in the boxes.
Make dialogues:

Present the comic strip. Help the Ss understand the meaning. Eddie and Hobo also get a map. They want to go somewhere. Q: Do they know the way?

Present the new words by sequencing pictures.
----Look!There is a building .It’s a police station .There are 3 robbers in the police station.They are in police uniform.There is a green van nearby.In the van there is a knife.The policemen find the robbers at the traffic lights.
Q-Why are the robbers in police uniform in the police station?Can you guess?
Let Ss read the title and the whole story, and then answer the questions:

What are they?

Show the students some road signs and ask students to match the words and signs. Encourage them to guess the meaning of any symbols they do not know. Check answers as a class activity.
Read a map
Draw a simple map of their local area on the blackboard.
It includes some shops, some streets and roads in the area. Divide the class into pairs.
