托福听力功能题解题技巧介绍
摘要： 托福听力功能题解题技巧介绍。今天，我们来认识托福听力六大题型当中的功能题。在托福听力中，功能题占到了托福听力总题量的15%左右。功能题一般以重听题的形式出现，先听到一部分原文，然后再将某句话重读，用于考察对文章中这句话作用的理解和判断。功能题常见的问法如下：

What does the professor imply when he says this ?

What can be inferred from the professor’s response to the student ?

What is the purpose of the woman’s response ?

Why does the student say this ?

因为功能题考察的是某句话在文章中的作用，所以我们要注意结合笔记中的上下文确定该句话所展现的功能，也就是我们所说的一定要结合上下文的语境，帮助我们明确这句话在文中的功能是什么。通常， 托福 听力当中，包括：解释，总结，建议，鼓励，强调，更正错误这6种功能。

我们通过几个具体例子，来体会下功能题的做法：

TPO16 L3 中教授说道：

Now I would have thought the bigger the tree, the farther the beaver would be willing to travel for it. That would make sense, right? If you’re going to travel far, make the trip worth it buy bringing back most wood possible.

Why does the professor say this：

To explain her reasoning

To indicate why her belief was wrong

To give an example of a decision beavers make

To explain the reason beavers travel far for wood

首先，我们看这段话说了什么，“我认为树越大，海狸更愿意走得远。这是说得通的，对吧?如果要走得远，那么带回最多的树木才能不虚此行。”教授先说道，树大，才值得海狸走得远，然后提出一个问句，这才说得通。再进行进一步的解释，因为要让旅途不虚此行，当然要多拿树木。所以，这句重听句是对前面的“说得通”进行的进一步解释，也就是我们提到的重听句其中的一个“解释功能”，答案为A.

我们再来看另外一个例子，

Now before I go on, let me just respond to something Carol was saying--- this idea that bats are blind. Actually, there are some species of bats, the ones that don’t use echolocation that do rely on their vision for navigation, but it is true that for many bats, their vision is too weak to count on.

Why does the professor say this

To answer a question that Carol asked

To correct a statement that Carol made

To praise Carol for an example that she gave

To give an example of a principle that Carol stated

让我们来看这个例子，文章开头，学生Carol说道，所有的蝙蝠都是看不到的，然后教授开始讲解，听到重听句，Now before I go on, let me just respond to something Carol was saying--- this idea that bats are blind.在我继续之前，我要回应下Carol所说的，所有的蝙蝠都是看不到的。然后教授详细解释了，很多蝙蝠是看不到，但是有的蝙蝠就是依靠视觉定位的。由此，我们可以看到，教授是在更正Carol的错误，那就是我们的更正错误功能，答案为B.

通过这些例子，我们能够看到，功能题在 托福听力 中不算难题，但是需要考生做到对句子所发挥功能心中有数，我们一定能攻克托福听力中的又一大题型。
