Section A 3a reading The Storm Brought People Closer Together By 熊文莲 教学目标:1. 通过阅读,让学生进一步学习和巩固一般过去进行时态的用法。 2. 通过阅读学习体会when和 while 引导的时间状语从句。 3. 以阅读材料为载体,训练与提高学生的阅读技能。 4. 通过阅读向学生渗透德育目标,即在灾难面前要团结,要相互帮助。 教学重难点:1. 学习文章中的新词和重点短语 2. 学习和体会when 和 while 引导的从句并能够加以运用。 3. 启发和训练学生阅读中的思维及表述能力。 教学方法:1、设问法 2. 复述法 3. 练习实践法 教学过程: Step 1. Revision Ask and answer in pairs. Step 2. Reading 3a 1. Read the passage quickly and answer the following questions Were winds strong or weak? Were strong winds blowing(吹)? Were clouds black or white? Was the sky dark or bright? What was making the sky very dark? What was the weather like before the heavy rain started? 2. Please go on reading and answer the questions: What was Ben’s dad doing? What was Ben’s mom doing ? What was Ben doing when the rainstorm came? When was the wind dying down? When was the sun rising ? 3. Read again and answer the questions What were the windows like after the storm? How was the rubbish? What was the neighborhood like after the storm? What did the neighbors do after the storm? What did Ben and his family do ? Step 3. Discussion Lead the students to find the main sentences and the main idea. Step 4. Listen to the tape and let students complete 3b. Then check their answers. And lead them to think the differences between “when” and “while” . Help the students sum up the uses of “when” and “while”. Step 5. To collect the important phrases and new words on the blackboard. Step 6. Exercises in class (Maybe they are homework.)
