教学过程:
第一课时:
Step1 Warming up
Teachers ask a student to stand up and introduce yourself like this :
Hi , I’m Miss Liu , what’s your name ?
Help them to answer :
Hi , I’m Jim .
Ask more students to answer like this .
Then tell them to do it by themselves .
Make sure that they can do it easily .
Teachers greet a student and say :
Nice to meet you .
Encourage them to answer :
Nice to meet you too .
Ask more students to answer like this .
Then tell them to do it by themselves .
Ask students to greet with their partners .
Step2 Learn activity 1a
Write English words for the things in the picture . How many words do you know ?
Answers may be like this :
door , window , book , clock , fish , boy , girl , basketball , bag , backpack ……
Praise them if they can say some of the words .
Step3 Do exercise 1b.
Listen to the tape , and number the conversations 1-3 .
Listen again and check the answers .
Listen and try to repeat .
Step4 Practice pairwork 1c
Practice the conversation in the picture . Then ask students to greet other students in class , write down the students’ English names they ask .
Act out the dialogue .
Step5 Homework
Make similar dialogues with your classmates or friends .
第二课时:
Step1 Have a revision
Greet students like this:
Hi, I’m Miss Liu . What’s your name ?
Students answer :
Hi, I’m Jim.
Then say Nice to meet you each other .
Ask students to greet their classmates like this .
Step2 Listening practice
Listen to the tape and do 2a. Number the pictures 1-4.
Listen again and do 2b, circle the names you hear .
Check the answers .
Listen and try to repeat .
Step3 Pairwork 2c
Practice the conversation in 2c.
Ask a pair of students to act out the dialogue like this :
A: Hello! What’s your name ?
B: My name’s……
A: I’m ……Nice to meet you .
B: Nice to meet you too.
Then ask another pair of students to retell like this :
A: What’s his name ?
B: His name is ……
A: And what’s her name ?
B: Her name is ……
Ask them to act out by themselves.
Step4 Grammar Focus
Read the sentences in Grammar Focus.
Close the book, teacher says Chinese and ask students to translate into English.
Ask students to make similar sentences.
Step5 Homework
Act out the dialogue with your partners.
Recite the sentences in Grammar Focus.
第三课时:
Step1 Have a revision .
Greet students.
Encourage students to act out their own dialogues.
Step2 Learn about First Name and Last name
Write down some English names on the blackboard.
Like: Gina Green, Jim Smith, Tom Brown.
Tell students : Gina, Jim, Tom are First Name.
Green, Smith, Brown are Last Name or we can say Family Name.
Encourage them to conclude: English names are different from our Chinese names.
Write down more English names, and ask students to identify First Name and Last Name.
Step3 Do exercise 3a and 3b
Open your books and turn to page3.
There are some names in 3a.
Do you know which ones are First Name and which ones are Last Name?
Write F for First Name and L for Last Name.
Check the answers.
Then choose a last name to make your new English name.
Tell us your new name.
Step4 Play a game.
Let’s play a Name Game.
Introduce yourself and other people like this:
My name is Jenny Green. His name is Bob Miller. Her name is Mary Black.
……
Step5 Homework
Make as many English names as you can.
第四课时:
Step1 Have a revision
Greet students.
Ask them to write down some English names on the blackboard, other students identify which ones are First Name and which ones are Last Name.
Step2 Learn the numbers0-9
Today let’s learn the numbers 0-9.
Teach the words: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
Read several times and make sure that they have mastered them.
Ask single students to read.
Teachers say numbers in Chinese freely, students say English.
Step3 Sing a song.
Learn the song Number Song .
It can help students to remember the numbers.
Step4 Groupwork: ask about telephone numbers
Teachers say some groups of English numbers, ask students to write down them.
Check the answers, who is the winner?
Ask students to ask and tell their phone numbers like this:
What’s your telephone number?
It’s……
Ask students to ask more students and write down as many telephone numbers as they can.
Then have a report like this:
Jim’s telephone number is ……
Step5 Listening practice
Listen to the tape, and do 2a and 2b.
Complete the phone numbers and match the names with telephone numbers.
Listen and check the answers.
Encourage students to repeat.
Step6 Homework
Ask more friends about their telephong numbers and write down.
第五课时:
Step1 Have a revision
Greet students.
Ask them to write down some English names on the blackboard, other students identify which ones are First Name and which ones are Last Name. They can ask like this:
What’s his/her first name? What’s his/her last name?
Step2 Do exercise 3a
Look at the picture., find out the last name and write them below.
Check the ansewers.
Ask students to read the names.
Step3 Do exercise 3b and 3c
Look at the ID card, and answer the question.
Check the answers.
Ask students to make their own ID cards.
Ask and answer questions according to their cards.
Step4 Play a game
Write your phone number on a piece of paper and put it in a bag. Then take out a piece of paper and find the owner.
They can ask: What’s your telephone number?
Step5 Homework
Make your own ID cards.
Make an ID card of one of your friend or classmate.
第六课时:
Step1 Have a revision
Greet students.
Show your ID card and introduce yourself like this:
I’m a boy/girl. My first name is …… My last name is …… My telephone number is ……
Step2 Do exercise 3
Ask some information about your friends.
Fill in the cards.
Then introduce two classmates.
You can do it like this:
His/her name is……
His/her first name is……
His/her last name is……
His/her telephone number is…..
Step3 Check the key words
Look at the key words in self check1. How many words do you know? Check the words if you know them.
Read the words.
Step4 Study some new words
Do you want to learn some more words?
Maybe you can try to remember these ones:

Step5 Just for fun
Read the sentences in the picture.
Do you know the meaning?
