《No Drugs》教学设计
I. Teaching contents: Reading and Vocabulary (P12~13)
II. Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge goals:
⑴ Learn the words, expressions in the passage
addictive; danger; reduce; nearby; used to; share … with; be/become addicted to; break in/into
⑵ Learn and master the important sentence pattern
Now I work in a center for drug addicts; helping others to stop taking drugs.
2. Ability goals:
Enable the students to express the danger of taking drugs and how to give up taking drugs and smoking.
3. Moral goals:
Cultivate the students to have the consciousness of not taking drugs and keeping fit
III. Key points:
1. Enable the students understand the passage correctly.
2. Help the students to master the use of some words and expressions.
IV. Difficult points:
Enable the students to use the language they learn in this period to express the danger of taking drugs.
V. Teaching methods:
Reading→question and answer→practice→discussion→summary
VI. Teaching procedure:
Step 1. Lead-in
Present some pictures about the bad results of taking drugs to the students and let them know how danger it is to take drugs so that they can know about the contents of the passage.
设计意图:通过向学生展示一些图片,让他们耳熟目睹吸毒的危害,从而让学生快速进入本课话题,为进一步学习课文打下基础。
Step 2. Fast reading
1. Give the students three minutes to read articles 1~2 at Page 12 and then ask them two questions.
⑴ Was the author addicted to taking drugs?
⑵ What was the result?
2. Give the students four minutes to read the passage at Page 13 and then ask then to do the exercise 5.
设计意图:让学生带着问题去快速阅读,从而提高学生阅读的针对性,以培养学生的快速阅读能力,从整体上把握文章内容。
Step 3. Detail reading
1. Ask students to read the passage again. This time ask them to read it more slowly and carefully and try to find the topic sentences of each paragraph.
设计意图:通过认真阅读,使学生获取文章细节内容,培养他们阅读理解能力。
2. Ask the students to translate some sentences into Chinese.
⑴ I continued to buy cannabis from the same man for about six months.
⑵ Users who inject the drug are also in more danger if they share needles with other users.
设计意图:在了解整篇课文的情况下,准确理解句子的含义,有利于提高学生的理解和表达能力。
Step 4. Listening
Ask students to listen to the tape of the passage.
设计意图:培养学生听的能力,也有助于他们把握正确的发音。
Step 5. Language study:

Step 7. Discussion
Taking drugs is dangerous to society, to family and to yourself. What shall do?
设计意图:通过讨论,使学生更进一步了解吸毒的危害性,从而有意识的远离毒品,保持健康。
Step 8. Summary
Ask students to sum up the points in this period of class
设计意图:通过总结,使学生复习巩固本节课重点知识。
Step 9. Homework
1. Learn all the news by heart.
设计意图:让学生掌握最基本的知识—词汇。
2. Write some sentences using the points in the passage.
设计意图:让学生复习巩固本节课所学重点知识。
