Cultural differences教学设计方案

教学目标分析:
Teaching aims:
1. know different cultures, traditions of different countries;
2. understand examples used in the conversation;
3. have a better understanding of cultural differences and learn how to treat different cultures ;
4. improve students’ skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking.
学习者特征分析(结合实际情况,从学生的学习习惯、心理特征、知识结构等方面进行描述):
学生已经具备初步自主阅读的能力,掌握了一定的阅读方法。本节课以文化差异为主题,让学生在了解不同文化的同时通过例子更好的把握文章整体内容。
教学重点难点:
1.understand examples used in the conversation;
2.have a better understanding of cultural differences and learn how to treat different cultures ;
教学过程
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
1. The teacher begins the lesson by showing a short video
2.How do you greet each other in China?
3. Introduce some greeting ways in other countries
【设计说明】通过展示一段视频引入主题,调动学生的学习热情和兴趣,寓教于乐,水到渠成导入本课主题。
Step 2 Fast reading
1. Which country is Waled from?
2. Where does Peter come from?
3. What does Ma Li think about learning about cultural differences?
【设计说明】通过回答问题完成对课文的初步理解。
Step 3 Reading Strategy
Teach students the purposes of examples and ask students to find out the examples of cultural differences in the passage.
【设计说明】教会学生在阅读中例子的重要性,并且通过练习训练他们的阅读技巧。
Step 4 Listening
Ask the students to listen to part 1 and fill in blanks.
【设计说明】让学生听文章第一部分并完成相应练习,训练学生的听力技能。
Step 5 Detailed reading
Ask students to read the rest part of the passage carefully and finish some relevant exercises.
通过阅读课文、回答问题和完成表格对文章进行进一步的理解。
Step 6 Consolidation
Let the students do some exercises to check how well they have grasped the passage.

Step7 Discussion
What are the benefits of learning different cultures?
【设计说明】从课文主题展开讨论,深化文章内涵,促使学生真正运用语言进行思想交流,提升学生的精神。
Step 8 Homework
1. Finish off the exercises on pages 114, 115 in your books.
2. Find out some useful expressions and sentence structures, and we will discuss about them tomorrow.
【设计说明】通过适当练习确保学生理解掌握课文,让学生找出有用的句子和词汇,为第二课时做好准备。
