冠词a、an的学习与应用
【基本知识】
冠词a、an的选用以其后单词的读音为准(按音标，而不是字母)。冠词后的单词开头读元音时用an；读辅音时用a . 注意以下几种情况：
1. 单词以“h”字母开头，用an . 如：an hour, an honour, an honest man等。
2. 单词以“u”字母开头，由不同的读音决定用an或a . 读元音时用an;读辅音时用a . 如：
an ugly boy, an unknown place; a university student, a useful plant等。
3. 单词中有特殊读音的情况，如：a one-eyed animal, a European city等。
4. 字母表中的元音字母以及读元音的f、l、m、n、s、x辅音字母的读音也决定a、an的使用。如： an A-shaped building, an X-ray test; a“u”and an“s”等。
