A 7-magnitude(震级)earthquake hit Ya'an,Sichuan at 8:02 on April 20, 2013, and it killed at
least 196 people and hurt more than 11,000.
Together with other students, Yang Xuelan ran out to the playground. She was safe. But all
her textbooks and exercise books were buried(埋)in the teaching building.
What can we do when an earthquake happens? In fact, there's little we can do to stop natural
disasters (自然灾害) such as earthquakes happening. But, some ways can reduce the harm(伤害)
◆ Drop down onto your hands and knees. This way can protect you from falling.
◆ Cover your head under a strong table or desk. You can also stay along a wall,and cover your head with your arms and hands.

A six-year-old British girl, Mollie Price, is opening up her third candy(糖果) store. She is one of Britain’s youngest bosses(老板). Her stores are called “Mollie’s.” She sells both British and American candy. The girl would like to open more candy stores. “It might sound crazy, but believe me,” Mollie says.

I am my mother’s third girl. When I was born, the doctor gently explained to my mother that my left arm was missing, below the elbow(肘). Then he gave her some advice(建议), “Don’t treat her any differently from the other girls.” And she did!
