Module 3 Unit 1 Point to the Door 1. Teaching objectives 1) language knowledge: Ss are able to understand the following words: point, to, door, sit, down, stand, up, window, blackboard, bird, desk, chair 2) language skills A. Ss are able to understand and react the following commands“point to...”stand up! Sit down! B. Ss are able to use “door, window, bird, desk, chair” to do the “point to...”activity. 3) affection and attitude Ss’ interests and initiative are improved 2. Teaching important points: point, to, door, sit, down, stand, up, window, blackboard, bird, desk, chair 3. Teaching difficult points: use “door, window, bird, desk, chair .etc” to do the “point to...”activity. 4. Teaching models: communicative teaching model, grammar translation teaching models .etc. 5. Time allotment: 35 mins 6. Teaching procedures Step1 lead-in(5mins) 1) greetings and warming-up 2) Write down “hello, hi, you, I” on the board and ask the Ss to read them. Then play the tape twice. T points to the words written on the board and says “point to...” Ss are guided to say “hello, hi, you, I” 3) Invite one S to play the role of Lingling and ask her to point to the window. And lead in part 2. Step 2 presentation and practice 1) play the tape twice, then ask the Ss to circle the “point to ....” structure. T writes down “point to...” on the board and teach the Ss to pronounce it. Then write down “door, window, blackboard” and teach the Ss to pronounce it. 2) Ask the whole class to follow the commands of “point to door/ window/ blackboard” by T. 3) Show the pictures of door/ window/ blackboard and hold the word card of door/ window/ blackboard.(the whole class say the words, invite one S to point) 4) Show the pronounce and ask the Ss to guess the meanings of “stand up, sit down” with the help of the cards. 5) T commands” boys, stand up/ sit down please, girls, stand up/ sit down please”. Boys command “girls, stand up/sit down please”.Girls command “boys, stand up/sit down please”. 6) Show the pictures of “point to/ stand up/ sit down/ bird/ window/ blackboard/ desk/ door” and invite one S to point the pictures, while the others say “point to...” and the teacher hold the word cards. 7) Play the game of doing the opposite moves: T says “point to/ stand up/ sit down”, while the Ss do the opposite moves. Step3: summary: show “point to/ stand up/ sit down/ bird/ window/ blackboard/ desk/ door” on the power point, Ss read them all. Step4: homework 1) read “point to/ stand up/ sit down/ bird/ window/ blackboard/ desk/ door” to the family. 2) Read P14-P15 to the family.
