Teaching Aims:
1.to master some new words about wild animals’ appearance and characters.
2.to describe the wild animals’ appearance, characters, abilities and danger with the information they’ve learned , and learn how to write a good report with the help of group members.
3.to realize the importance of protecting wild animals, love nature and know what to do to protect every animals around us.
Important points and difficult points:
1.to make a conversation freely with the words and expressions.
2.to learn to make notes before writing and write a good report.
3.to work in a team in each part of this class.
Teaching procedures:
Step One: Lead in
1.The teacher Has a free talk with students about wild animals to present the topic.
2.The students have a memory test to review some names about the wild animals and realize the danger that wild animals are facing and then know the importance of protecting them.
3.The whole class talk about the things we can do to help them. Present: Let’s set up a wild animals club.
Step Two: pre-task
1.The teacher show a table from one member of the club and encourage the students to listen and finish the table.(present some important words and expressions.)
2.Check the answers together.
3.to summarize the key word of each pert: Appearance, Character, Danger, Action.
4.Group work: Make a conversation about giant pandas. And have a competition.
5.A brainstorm: tell what they have known about bears.
6.Finish part C. write a report on bears.
7.Check the answers in groups and tell the key word of each part again: Appearance, Ability, Character,Danger,Action.
8.Sum up: We can divide our report into three parts and encourage the students to find what we write about in each part.
Step Three: While-task
1.Since we have written: bears are in danger. Can we write about nay other wild animals. Group work: Discuss what we want to write? And make notes together.
2.Wrote a report on their won. (Show them some common mistakes they usually make in their articles and encourage them to make tjeir report a good one.)
Step Four: Post-task
1.Check the report by themselves.
2.Exchange the report in their groups and show the task: underline the good expressions and offer some advice.
3.The students recommend some good reports and share them in front of the whole class.
4.Conclusion: A bit more love,a much more wonderful world.
Step Five: Homework
1.The teacher recommend some more websites to encourage the students to get more information about wild animals.
2.Write more reports and show the reports to their friends and family members.
