Pre-listening
1. Play a video about 2012 Olympic Games in London and ask Ss to speak out the Olympic sports in it.
2. Show some signs of the sports and let Ss speak out the names of the sports.
3. Ask Ss to listen to a dialogue and number the sports as they hear the sports.
4. Ask Ss which sport they like better? And Why?
5. Show Ss Tony’s six ideas in activity two on Page32 and ask Ss to match the sentences with the pictures.
6. Show Ss Betty’s opposite ideas to Tony’s and let Ss understand the words with the opposite meanings.
1. Watch the video and talk about the sports they see in the video.
2. Look at the signs and speak out the names of them.
3. Listen to the dialogue and number the sports they hear.
4. Ss express their ideas about the sports they like and the reasons.
5. Read the sentences and match the pictures with them.
6. Look at the opposite ideas of Betty and Tony and understand the words with opposite meanings.

2. Get to know the new words and get ready for the following listening part.
