Step 1. Warming up
Let a student make daily report by singing an English song or telling a story in English to improve their spoken English.
Step 2 Revision.
1.Discuss the weather and the temperature in Chinese;
2. Check up the homework

Let the students read the news on P48.
Pay attention to :
(1). The pronunciation and intonation.
Eg. comfortable,forecast, otherwise, temperature, umbrella etc.
(2).Word formation ( Explain some rules about the adjective suffixes)

rain n.+y→rainy daj.
Snow n.+ y→snowy adj.
Sun n.+ny→sunny adj.
wind n.+y→windy
comfort v+ able.→ comfortable adj.

(3). Let the students try to remember these new words .
(4). Check up the students memory by doing asking and answering exercises.
(5).Finish Tasks1&2 on P38

Step1. warming-up
Get the students to talk sth about the weather by using the words related the weather..
Step2 Words to learn
u Teach the usage of the following words.
1. weather n.→condition of the air.
Eg. What’s the weather like today?
2. temperature n.→ a measure of heat or coldness.
Eg:What’s the temperature today?
3. degree n.→a unit of temperature.
The temperature today is two degrees higher than yesterday.
4. sunny adj.→ bright.
It’s a beautiful sunny day.
5. foggy adj.→ not clear because of fog.
It’s afoggy day today.
6. windy adj.→ wind blowing.
What a windy day today!
7. cloudy adj.→ covered with clouds.
Tomorrow will be a cloudy day.
8. cool adj.→ fairly cood.
As it was a hot day, she wore a cool dress.
9. tain v.→drops of water falling from the clouds.
It begins to rain.
It’s raining outside.
10. snow v. .→ white flakes falling from the sky.
Will it snow tomorrew?
