Last week, some Australian students came to our school for a visit. As a volunteer, I joined in
the activity. Early that day , we gave them a warm welcome at the school gate. After that , I
showed them into a classroom. There one of our teachers taught them something about
calligraphy. I explained in English when necessary. They were amazed by the wonderful
Chinese art, and some of them even tried writing some characters successfully. To remember
the enjoyable moment, we took photos together and this was really a memorable event.

Dear Jack,
Last week, our school organized a Traditional Culture Festival. Upon hearing this news, we were excited and decided to make Hanfu with newspapers. First, we surfed the Internet for the Hanfu’s original culture and different styles. With the information collected, we started to design our own Hanfu. After a couple of attempts, our design was finally created. Immediately, we got down to work. We cut the newspapers, stuck the pieces together and even colored it. Finally, when our show time came, I walked the runway wearing our elegant Hanfu and the audience cheered and even got onto their feet with wild applause.
This activity gave us a strong sense of achievement. More importantly, we gained a lot of pride in and knowledge about our traditional culture.

Last weekend, Tom and I paid a visit to the Summer Palace, which proved to be very interesting and rewarding.
We arrived at the entrance early in the morning and I introduced the history of the park to Tom briefly. The moment we entered the park, Tom was attracted by the beautiful scenery and we walked along the beautiful lake happily. Soon, we noticed an elderly man practicing calligraphy on the ground, with a bucket of water aside. Holding a big writing brush in his hand, he wrote the Chinese character for “longevity”. As well as other tourists, we couldn’t help but admire his skills.
To our surprise, the elderly man invited Tom to have a try. With his help, Tom completed his first calligraphy task, the two Chinese characters for “China”, quite successfully. Before we left, we took a photo together to memorize this valuable experience. In the picture, Tom held the writing brush and the elderly man smiled, with his thumb up.
I was so glad that I could help my foreign friend to learn about the art of the language we have been using for several thousand years. In addition, I rediscovered the charm of Chinese culture.

On February 6, I went to visit my grandma. Entering the room, I found her busy making paper cuts. Looking at the calendar, I realized it was just the right date for room decoration according to the Chinese tradition.
Attracted by the delicate works, I couldn’t wait to have a try. With her patient instruction, I learnt the basic steps and skills of making paper cuts. It wasn’t long before my creations were “born”. Then eagerly, we put them up. With different designs on the windows, such as a monkey and the Chinese character “Fu”, our room was filled with a festival atmosphere.
To share our happiness with others, we called on our next door neighbors and gave them some of our paper cuts. I felt proud when receiving their appreciation of our gifts.
Paper cuts made this Spring Festival more special.

范文1：   Last Sunday, I accompanied two of my foreign friends, Tom and Mary, around Beijing so that they could get a feel for the city. We began by touring Nanluoguxiang, which is known for its traditional Chinese architecture. I know the area very well so I acted as their tour guide! For lunch, we tried some Beijing fried sauce noodles. Tom in particular 
thought that they were delicious. Soon after lunch, we went to Houhai to skate on the frozen lake. Mary skated beautifully while Tom needed my help. We finished off the day by going shopping, and both Tom and Mary bought some paper cuts as   souvenirs. It was a fantastic day and I hope they will come back again soon.

In the morning, we went to the Nanluoguxiang by subway. Upon arrival, I introduced the old lane which renowned for its long history. In order to memorize the unforgettable moments, we took photos here and there. We walked around for almost morning, we felt tired and decided to have lunch. We found a restaurant of Beijing fried sauce noodles. Tom and Mary spoke highly of Beijing noodles. After finishing the lunch, we enjoyed skating in Houhai on the frozen lake. When we decided to leave, the traditional paper cutting caught our eyeballs. Following the introduction of the local stall keeper, Tom selected the most special cutting from all of the traditional stuff.     
The setting sun was reflected on our body, and we went home. This experience with them undoubtedly improved our friendship and mutual understanding. Actually, it cast me a deeper reflection. As a Chinese, we should appreciate our own culture so as to make these treasures lasting forever. 
范文3：   Beijing has always been attracting and interesting many foreigners for its traditional culture and beauty, because of which my American friends Tom and Mary, accompanied by me, did some interesting trips last Sunday.    When it comes to the most famous Hutong in Beijing, Nanluoguxiang pops into our heads immediately. Upon our arrival in the morning, our friends couldn’t wait to take pictures, while I was introducing the history, culture, and customs of this well-known place. Without consciousness, we spent several hours looking, wandering and shopping there. With lunchtime around the corner, I took them to a restaurant where they could taste the Beijing fried sauce noodles. Tom’s 
praising words “Yummy”, his big thumb-up and their bright smiles made me overjoyed, satisfied and even a little proud.     Our afternoon trip began with a popular winter sport – ice-skating in Houhai. Wearing skating shoes, Tom and Mary were 
in high spirits, skating like flying. Meanwhile, I, skating around them, reminded them of being careful. Tired but thrilled,   we were heading back to school. On the way, Tom and Mary were fascinated with a folk art – paper cutting. Various typical Chinese elements appealed to them deeply.     
Nightfall was approaching. From this experience, I realized that it only took one day to introduce our beautiful hometown, Beijing, it only took one day to strengthen our friendship, and it only took one day to enhance cross-cultural communication.
