Let’s make our school (更漂亮). 12. in one’s daily life 意为“在某人的日常生活中”,当表示“不同人的日常生活”时,则使用复数lives。 如: We have so many solar products in our daily . 13. come from 意为“来自”。如:I the south of China. 14.比较:for example 与such as 这两个短语都可以作“例如”解。for example 用来举例说明某一论点或情况,一般只举同类人或事物中的“一个”为例,可位于句首、句中或句末。如: A lot of things are invisible. For example , we cannot see air at all. such as 用来列举事物时,一般列举同类人或事物中的几个例子,插在被列举的事物与前面的名词之间,as 后面不可有逗号。 1) Some of the rubbish , food , paper and iron , rots away over a long period of time . 2) Many languages , English and French , , have many similar words . 15. Look around this room. look around 意为“环顾……”。 如:I’d like to your company. 16.(be)made of 意为“由……制成”。 这是一种被动语态,但我们常常把它当做一个固定搭配来记忆。如:The box is made of cardboard. 辨析:be made of 与be made from这两个词组都有“由……制成”的意思。但使用前者时,成品可以看得出原材料;而。使用后者时,成品看不出原材料。 试比较: The chair wood. (木质的椅子可以看出原材料是木头) Paper usually wood. (纸看不出原材料是木头) 17. cut down 意为“砍倒……;砍伐……”。 如: His mother the beanstalk yesterday. 18. millions of 意为“数以百万计的;大量的”。如: of people around the world eat these foods every day. 下面这些词组也十分常用: hundreds of成百上千的 thousands of 成千上万的 tens of thousands of 数以万计的 hundreds of thousands of 数以十万计的 19. stop doing something 与stop to do something stop doing something 是“停止做某事”之意,doing是stop的宾语,表示要停止的动作;stop to do something 意为“停下来开始做某事to 是stop 的状语,表示目的,是要开始做某事。试比较: The two girls stopped (talk) when they saw me. Grammar 构成:主语+be+动词ing〔现在分词〕形式 I+am+v-ing we/ you/ they+are+v-ing he/ she/ it +is+v-ing 定义:现在进行时表示现在或当前一般时间正在进行的动作。   【No. 1】现在进行时的构成   现在进行时由"be+v-ing"构成。be应为助动词,初学者最容易漏掉,它应与主语的人称和数保持一致。 【No. 2】现在进行时的应用 (1) 当句子中有now时,常表示动作正在进行,这时要用现在进行时。如:   They are playing basketball now.现在他们正在打篮球。 (2)以look, listen开头的句子,提示我们动作正进行,这时要用现在进行时。 如: Listen!She is singing an English song.听,她正在唱英语歌。   (2) 【No. 3】现在进行时的变化   肯定句式:主语+be( am, is, are)+现在分词+其它.   否定句式:主语+be(am, is, are) +not +现在分词+其它.   一般疑问句:Be(am, is, are) +主语+现在分词+其它?   特殊疑问句:疑问词+be(am, is, are)+主语+现在分词+其它?   对现在进行时的特殊疑问句的回答,它不可以用Yes或No直接作答,要根据实际情况回答。        有一些特殊变化(或者说以ie为结尾的重读闭音节的动词)的现在分词〔有3个〕,:lying—lie, dying ―die tying―tie 这些以ie结尾要去e再把I变y再加ing. 练习 1、 在横线上写出下列动词的现在分词形式。 carry ______ eat ______ burn ______ send ______ rain ______ become ______ argue ______ escape ______ live ______ lie ______ die ______ begin______ put ______ sit ______ 2、 请改正句子中错误的地方。 B.
