没有人称和数的变化;(be able to和have to这两个情态动词短语除外)3. Two eyes can see more than one. Could the girl read before she went to school?

He cant (couldnt) have enough money for a new car. You mustnt smoke while youre walking around in the wood. You could start a fire. Can I have a look at your new pen? He asked whether he could take the book out of the reading-r

、oom. He cant (couldnt) be over sixty. How can you be so careless? Can (Could) you lend me a hand? Im afraid we couldnt give you an answer today.

You may take whatever you like. May (Might) I ask for a photo of your baby? Yes, please. / Certainly. / Please dont ./ Youd better not. / No, you mustnt. He may be at home.

She may not know about it. He was afraid they might not agree with him. They might be having a meeting, but Im not sure. (3)注意may be和maybe的区别Her boyfriend may be a bad man.= Maybe her boyfriend a bad man.3. mustmust拥有情态动词家族的共性:无人称和数的变化,也无时态变化。

We must do everything step by step. I _ _ hard. You must wait in line. He must be ill. He looks so pale. Shes wearing a diamond necklace. Sh

、e must have a lot of money. She _ _our new Chinese teacher. The door is closed. He _ _ at home. 在对May I .?作否定回答时用No, you mustnt / cant。如: You mustnt talk to her

、 like that. You _ tell her this news. You _ _smoke here. 若是否定回答,则是No,主语+neednt或dont have to。Must we hand in our exercisebooks now? No, you neednt. / No, you dont have to. 不必
