As well as this, we find it amusing to tell jokes about things that have gone wrong for us, rather than not mentioning them in case we look stupid. Our funny stories might start with “Im such an idiot, I did something really stupid yesterday”. Another thing that can make it difficult to understand “British humor” is that we dont always laugh or even smile when we say something funny. We often “keep a straight face” even when were making a joke. So, is the British sense of humor unique? Well, probably not. According to a new study by a British university, learning a second language can lead to an increase in your brain power. Researchers found that learning other languages changes grey matter.
