The world without me, I lean and watch the setting sun,

Where I dwelt for years, mountains and mists beyond.

The village ahead is partly enshrouded in time,

Blue and green fading away, stream flows westward with meander, eastward hills soaring high.

鸟道林间，乘舟遠瞩，

茅亭草舍，历历耳目。

春逐燕夫度，夜惊鸳鹭飞，

秋来多蝉噪，夕去漏声急。

Through the forest birds fly, boat unmoored to explore afar,

Thatched huts and grass shacks in clear view, a feast for the eyes.

Spring follows the swallows, nights startled by mandarin ducks,

Autumn full of cicadas, evening when the sandglass runs slow.

山之横者，水之汇者，

曲从后生，形由前古。

石屏鸟道逶迤接青峰，

夏溜龙门斗折入紫洞。

Crossing rivers, scaling mountains,

Loops and curves follow the winding way from ancient times.

Rocky screens and bird paths meander to the green peak,

Summer sluice plunges into the purple cave to create a tumultuous symphony.

九曲复又通巨川，

河源何处接天边。

风波不动景沉沉，

Moonlight shines on New Year's Eve, jade hairpin set off the spring morning.

Wide wilderness surrounding Three Gorges at dusk,

Servant and laborer light up bonfire for the night must.

自是人生长恨水长东，

此地无银三百两。

Say life-long sorrow, as the water flows endlessly east,
