About what I thought about Betty Montag Faber and Mildred
Betty: He is a man that really knowledgeable, he always says something that makes Montag confuse. In the novel after the firemen burn the books and the old lady some firemen remember some poem but can’t remember them clearly. However, Betty knows that even if he didn’t read that poem book at all. That means Betty really knows a lot about the books. So, if Betty reads so much about the books, why he became a fireman? At first, I think that Betty knows a lot but he doesn’t like that. Just some students can speak English, but they prefer to speak Chinese. But after I finish part three I got hat Betty really love to read books when he was young. And he always read books in the library. When people start to burn books, his heart was broken, so the love to the books became hate. He signed up to became a fireman zealously. And every time burn the books he is actively .He does that because he want to steal some books. So it means he is not a person that really incorrigible. He is a person that wants to save himself from damage when he was young .He told a lie, however, if a lie keep such a long time, the people who tell the lie may believe the lie. So Betty became a real fireman that really knowledgeable. However, there must remain something in the person that has been read books. So Betty is miserable, he know that what he do is incorrect, but he still do that ,that is worse than the other person that don’t know what they do is terrible. In the part three, he died, because he wanted to die. He can’t stand that kind of life that always wears a mask. If a man lives in such a bad state of mind, died may a good way to liberation.

Montag: Montag is not the same as Betty. Betty is a man that loves to read before he starts to work as a fireman. However, at first, Montag is a person that has two parts: one is love to burn books, he think burn books is a good thing to have fun .On the other hand, he met Faber at a park before, know that he has books but never makes it public. Also, some one said that he hid some books at home that is a point that he is not the same as other fireman, however, I don’t think so. Every one is curious about something that he doesn’t know but always deal with. So maybe other firemen steal some books and read them as well, just after they read it, they don’t think books are very interesting and give up. The difference between Montag and other firemen is Montag can listen to the people, care about others. He is a man that lives with heart. He cares about the people who love him and who he love. He is the man that can listen other’s advice and opinion. That’s why he changes himself after he met Clarisse. In this novel, that’s a good character, however, if we just simply listen to others, never consider in our own mind, is not good, we may become a cats paw. In this novel, Montag lost his family, his house because he listen to Clarisse, in our opinion, he become a good person that know what is right, but in the world of the novel, he lose too much about the change to what is right.

Faber: Faber is a person that loves to read books. In my opinion, he is the cleverest person in the novel. First, he never injured because of the censorship. If he is a man that hold his opinion unquestioning, he will like the old lady that burn herself, it looks great, however, no sense. She can’t do anything for the people who awaken. Just because of Faber’s overcautious he can help Montag solve so many questions. Also, he never loses his belief. He made a green bullet, when Montag need some help, it can help him keep communicate with Montag to solve the problem. It shows that he knows what he should do, he dare to fight with the things that is incorrect, and he does his best and helps a lot. He just like the diving board can help the people who need help. Also, he gets along with others with heart. That’s why after Montag killed Betty, he can only find Faber to ask for help. That the great wisdom. We need this kind of lifestyle.

Mildred: In the novel, author shows that she is a person that fall in love with bad TV shows, regardless her real family, seems happy. But in fact, her inside is empty. She thinks that the people in TV shows are real, they can speak, and she can see them. Some people may say that she is stupid, she is obdurate. But I think she is just want to escape. She doesn’t have any child. She doesn’t have a place to release her emotion. She doesn’t know how to love and what need to love. So she use TV shows to release the terrible life. Just like another person Ah Q in The True Story of Ah Q .He doesn’t have any good qualities, so lots of people make fun of him. He always says some bad word to the people who make fun of him. That’s a good way to release the emotion. As the same way, Mildred tries to entrust to TV shows. In part three, we don’t know where she goes to until war began and she died. Before she died, the book describes that she still watching TV and never realizes that she is dying. She is a tragedy, she hasn’t found the true essence of why she is living. She is one of the person that is influenced by bad TV shows. She is a warming. She is the victim for that time.

Summary: The book describes four kinds of people in part three. First one is Betty, the people that dare not go their step beyond the law. Even if the law is wrong. They can’t subside their thought. They never do anything to try to change the actuality. They live in affliction.
Second is Montag they change themselves when they living. They found the lifestyles they get are bad. They change because of some people love books told them some truth that wake up their wholehearted.
Third is Faber they are the people reading books. They try to help the people like Montag find themselves. They are the people carry the knowledge. They use their heart to commutate with others. They keep away with the people like Betty and Mildred.
Fourth is Mildred, they never read books, they don’t think books can give them happy, they always watching TV shows, and they think they are the good people because they never break the law. They are poor. They live in an empty world. Love stay away with them. They are happy but they are not happy, they have family but they don’t have family. They say they are loved but they are not be loved. They don’t think they are poor but they are really poor.
