In 2016, Google’s AlphaGo defeated Lee Sedol, the World Go Champion, 4 to 1 in a five-game match. The machine’s sweeping victories have once again made AI（artificial intelligence）a hot topic. Some people fear that AI will eventually get out of control. 

To what extent do you agree or disagree with the opinion？Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. 

AlphaGo’s great triumph over Lee Sedol once again draws persons’ attention to artificial intelligence. And some people assert that AI will pose a threat to human existence if human lose control of it. In my opinion, it will be a long time before artificial intelligence has consciousness itself, not to mention defying human. But in the more distant future, we have reasons to believe that AI will have no distinction from human and disobey human’s orders.

Artificial intelligence, in essence, is simulation of human ways of thinking. And its development deals with interdisciplinary of computer science, mathematics, biology and so on, which is a complicated and long process. As a matter of fact, for the structure of human brain is bizarre and delicate, breakthrough in artificial intelligence is hard to attain. AI nowadays is mostly confined to industrial production and AlphaGo is on the cutting edge. As for human emotions, the most advanced AI technology can only struggle to identify few expressions. Thus, AI will serve human and have no threat in a relatively long time.

On the other hand, however, it’s no denying that artificial intelligence is growing in surprising speed and imitating human brain may not be that difficult a task. Turing Test, for instance, is a way raised by Turing to test whether artificial intelligence is close enough to human, in which answers of computers are compared with human about their similarity degree. In this case, artificial intelligence can be trained like dogs by punishment and rewarding. That is to say, if AI is trained with human values as many times as possible, it will behave no difference from genuine human. Also, artificial intelligence pretending not passing the Turing Test is much more horrid and is indeed a disaster to human.

In brief, artificial intelligence deserves careful guide before it builds ethical and moral standards.

In conclusion, artificial intelligence does not threaten human existence in the short term, but with soaring growing, AI is worth discussing urgently.
