Abstract：
Shibor (Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate) refers to the short-term lending rate in the Chinese interbank market, which plays a crucial role in the process of China's interest rate marketization.
Based on literature review and analysis of data, this paper introduces the definition, development, calculation method and influencing factors of Shibor. Furthermore, the construction and progress of China Interbank Bond Market (CIBM), as well as the current status and future development trend of China's interest rate marketization are explored.
It is found that Shibor plays an irreplaceable role in the process of China's interest rate marketization, and transparency and fairness of its calculation method and influencing factors need to be continuously improved. Meanwhile, the development of CIBM is also of great significance for the process of China's interest rate marketization. Further efforts are needed to promote external opening and reform and innovation.
This paper aims to deepen our understanding of Shibor and China's interest rate marketization, providing references for financial reform and development in China.
