When we talk about Greece, regardless of its famous myths and philosophy, we should not forget the extraordinary scenery and food there.
The Greek capital is undergoing a radical period of urban renewal that did not stop with the 2004 Olympics. The magnificent Acropolis, crowned by the iconic Parthenon temple, rises above the city。 The Acropolis is the focal point of Athens。 You can see it from many different places in the city and when you do, it just takes your breath away。 The Acropolis was built in the 5th Century BC, and, basically, the word means high point in the city. It's also one of the first places that people visit when they come here, because it’s Athens。 If you walk all the way up the mountain you will see the extraordinary Parthenon and the monuments there.
People always said that if you went to Greece, you shouldn’t miss the Aegean Sea because its beauty is such a treasure of human. It is a sea arm of the Mediterranean Sea located between the southern Balkan and Anatolian peninsulas。 The Aegean Islands are within the sea and some bound it on its southern periphery, including Crete and Rhodes. Today, Rhodes Island is one of Greece’s most visited islands. It is known for its beautiful beaches, archaeological sites and medieval towns。 The east side of the island has beautiful sandy beaches such as the Lindos Beach with calm waters while the beaches on the west are full of gravel and windy, thus suitable for activities such as surfing and kite boarding。
The tourists’ attractions of Greece also connected with its special culture and history, such as the Ancient Greek Olympia Stadium。 Olympics were celebrated as Pan-Hellenic festival in ancient Greece consisting of athletic games and contests of choral poetry and dance。 It was first celebrated in 776 B。C. and held periodically until A。D 393 on the plain of Olympia in honor of the Olympian Zeus. Now the ancient Olympia Stadium has become an important symbol of Greece。
Then welcome to the world of Greek food! It's is so worth enjoying. Located at the crossroads of Europe and the Middle East, Greece's history has as much to do with its foods as do its natural resources.Olives is considered as an important thing in every Greek food. It’s usually show up in salads, along with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, scallions, and feta。 Feta is a kind of cheese made from goat’s milk. With the Mediterranean Sea so close, fish is a favorite main course。 And there are Sheep thriving on Greece’s mountainsides, so meat dishes often contain lamb. Besides roasts, Greek cooking features creative casseroles。 Moussaka combines meat, eggplant, potatoes, tomatoes, and custard。 Special sweet breads are made at Christmas and Easter。 And the bread for New Year’s Day has a special surprise. Tradition says that whoever gets the coin inside enjoys good luck all year.
Ice water with lemon accompanies every meal。 Many people enjoy strong coffee or tea, too。 Adults may drink Greek wines, or sip ouzo; it is a kind of colorless liquor。
So when you’re having your trip in Greece, you can enjoy both the beautiful scenery and the tasty food there。 Greece offers a myriad of experiences, landscapes and activities, so you will never feel boring this way。
