When taking a vacation, more than anything, we seek to relax. Do you know the best length of time you need to be away to enjoy the full benefits of a holiday. A new study suggests that eight days is the perfect amount of time to achieve the maximum amouni of relaxation and happiness without feeling bored or homesick. In fact, ihe length of your vacation has no effect on your mcxxl after it's over. As soon as you get back to work, you* 11 probably forget about most of the gocxl times. But why do people take vacation in the first place? The study notes that the risk of illness goes up without annual (每年的)vacations. So take shorter vacations every year to refresh rather than taking one long vacation every few years. The study also finds that short breaks like the weekend aren* t long enough for people to enjoy the benefits of having time off, because employees are working longer hours and the lines between work and home life are increasingly crossing.
But to really make a vacation helpful, there are things people can do to truly “unplug" and focus on themselves instead of their jobs. A blogger Simpson recommends people leave their work devices at home, and set up an automated message to remind other people that they are travelling out.
In the study, researchers concluded that we need to work, yet we also need to get off being busy and have fun with a vacation. The positive benefits of time off start from Day 1, and until Day 8 people fully shake off their responsibilities and work stress. Then it’s time to go back.
