Unit 2 Boys and girls
First period
Teaching aim:
1. To know and say the words to use pictures:classmate/friend/man/woman/boy/girl,
2To arouse the ss’ interest of learning English and join all kinds of organized activities actively.
3.To let ss know the importance of co-operating each other.
Teaching points: understand the words and remember the words
Teaching procedure:
Step 1: Warming up and revision 5 minutes
1.Daily English
T:Good morning, boys and girls!
S:Good morning, teacher!
2.Review the words
T:We have learned some words last week, do you remember them, yes or no?
S:Yes.
T:Ok, please look at the blackboard,let’s read them together.

Step 2: Presentation
1. Use word cards to lead out the words:classmate/friend/boy/girl/woman/man
2. Let Ss listen to the tape and read atter the radio.(pay more attention to the pronunciation especially girl/friend)
Step 3: Practise
1. Lead the ss to look at the picture
T:Look, there are some people in the picture.Who are they? Ss discuss the picture.
2. Play the song.
Step 4:Summarize
Use ppt to explain the difference between friend and classmate.Students read the words and understand the meaning of these words in this lesson.

The second period
Teaching aims:
1.ss are able to use the sentences to introduce people.:He is a boy.She is a girl.

The third period
Teaching aims:
able to understand and make sentence about how to ask people’s name.:What’s his/her name? His/Her name is...
Teaching procedures:
Step 1:Warming up and revision 5 minutes
1. Ss follow the recorder and sing the song.
2. T say some name that ss are familiar with , ss can describe:He/She is a boy/girl... And review the words.
Step 2:Presentation
1. Lead the ss look at the picture and figure out the characters and puppets. Use the sentences learned in second period to introduce the character.He/She is a ...
2. Lead the ss to focus on the Picture A, and ask question:Who are they?What are they talking about?Now let’s listen to the dialogue.
Play the recorder, learn the dialogue.
Step 3:Practice
1. Talk about Picture A::Joy and Binbin are taking about dolls.
Point to the doll and ask.T:Look, he is a boy.What’s his name?Lead ss to answer:His name is Sam.and write the dialogue on the board.
Point to the girl doll and ask:Look,she is a girl.I want to know her name.How to ask? Lead ss to ask:What’s her name? And answer:Her name is Candy.
Step 4:Summarize
What’s her name? Her name is Candy.
What’s his name? His name is Sam.
(The students read the dialogue and understand the meaning of them in this lesson. )

The forth period
Teaching aim: Consolidate the sentences they have learned.What’s his/her name?His/Her name is...
Teaching procedures:
Step 1:Warming up and revision 5 minutes
Read the dialogue together.(Let students concentrate on teaching content and make good preparation for the class.)
Step 2: Presentation
1. Ss listen to the recorder and look at the picture. Understand the rules of the game.
2. T pick a picture , point to the picture and ask:What’s his name? Ss turn over the cards, and make the answer according to the name on the card.:His name is... Then ss can ask, t answer the Q.
Step 3:Practice
Ss can use the word cards, rename the characters, write the names behind the cards. Ss can ask Q randomly:What’s his name?
Step 4:Summarize
How to ask and answer:

The fifth period
Teaching aims:
1. Use the words and sentences in different scenes.
2.use the words and pictures to understand the pronounce of e,f,g,h, and use the phonics to pronounce the whole words.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1:Warming up and revision 5 minutes
Ss follow the recorder to learn the song. Review the sentences:Who is he/she? What’s his/her name? Her/His name is...
Step 2: Presentation
1. Ss listen to th recorder and look at the pictures, understand the rules of the game.
2. Ask five ss come to the front of the class. One of them cover him eyes, touching another s and guess who is him or her. And answer the questions of the teacher and ss.:Boy or girl?What’s his/her name? Or Who’s he/she?
Step 3:Practice
1. Ss divide into five group, and play the game in step 2.
2.ss follow the recorder and imitate the recorder.
Step 4:Summarize

The sixth period
Teaching aims:use the recorder, picture and words to understand the story themselves, able to act the story with the teacher’s help.
Teaching materials: recorder, pictures, words cards
Teaching procedures:
Step 1:Warming up and revision 5 minutes
1. Lead ss sing the song in the first period, and review the words in this unit.
2. T show the outline of the character, use the sentences and words in this unit to talk with ss.
T:Is it a girl? Is it a man?
Boy or girl? What’s his/her name?
Step 2: Presentation
1. Lead ss look at pic1 and ask Q:What animals can you see in the picture?What do the rabbit and duck see? Can you guess?Ss guess the main meaning of the story.
2. Play the story or tell the story, help ss to understand the story.
Step 3:Practice
1. Ss read the story following the recorder.
2. Imitate the recorder. Ss act the story in front of the class.
