I have no regrets.” Li Na posted this bittersweet statement about her retirement from professional tennis last Friday. During Sunday’s farewell news conference, she wiped tears from her face, revealing just how hard it was for her to e to this decision.  The two-time Grand Slam champion, 32, has not played in a professional tournament since her third-round loss to the Czech Republic’s Barbora at Wimbledon 2014. In July, Li underwent a fourth surgery on her knee and said she hoped to be back for the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open, to be held in her hometown, but was unable to recover from her injuries.  At the age of 17, Li went professional and began training in the state sports system. After the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, she made the life-changing decision to leave the national team.  The aggressive player has since bee one of the region’s biggest stars and the poster girl for the Women’s Tennis Association. After her win at the 2011 French Open, Li became the first player from Asia to win a Grand Slam singles title. She went on to claim another Grand Slam title at the Australian Open this past January. At the height of her career, she was ranked the world’s No.2 player behind Serena Williams from the US.  Despite her tough performance on the court, Li won millions of admirers with her warm and charming personality outside the arena. Her frequent joking in courtside interviews about life with Jiang Shan, 34, her former coach and husband of eight years, helped her bee a global icon.  Li’s biggest acplishment, however, is her contribution to the rise of tennis in China. Just a few years ago, the sport was still in its infancy. The number of female tennis events in China has shot up from 2 to 10 over the course of the past decade. Li is more than a sports superstar. She’s an inspiration to millions. In that sense, she’s achieved more in her professional life than most can ever dream. 56. Which of the following is the best title of the passage?   A. B I really love my job because I enjoy working with small children and like the challenges and awards from the job. I also think my work is important. There was a time when I thought I would never have that sort of career. I wasn’t an excellent student because I didn’t do much schoolwork. In my final term I started thinking what I might do and found I didn’t have much to offer. I just accepted that I wasn’t the type to have a career. I then found myself a job, looking after two little girls. It wasn’t too bad at first. But the problems began when I agreed to live in, so that I would be there if my boss had to go out for business in the evening. We agreed that if I had to work extra hours one week, she’d give me time off the next. But unfortunately, it didn’t often work out. I was getting extremely tired and fed up, because I had too many late nights and early mornings with the children. One Sunday, I was in the park with the children, and met Megan who used to go to school with me. I told her about my situation. She suggested that I should do a course and get a qualification if I wanted to work with children. I didn’t think I would be accepted because I didn’t take many exams in school. She persuaded me to phone the local college and they were really helpful. My experience counted for a lot and I got on a part-time course. I had to leave my job with the family, and got work helping out at a kindergarten. Now I’ve got a full-time job there. I shall always be thankful to Megan. I wish I had known earlier that you could have a career, even if you aren’t top of the class at school. 60. When staying with the two girls’ family, the author __________. A. took a day off every other week. B. often worked long hours. C. was paid for extra work. D. got much help from her boss. 61. Why did the author leave her first job? A. Qualifications are necessary for a career.         C Homestay provides English language students the opportunity to speak English outside the classroom and the experience of being part of a British home. What to Expect The host will provide acmodation and meals. Rooms will be cleaned and bedcovers changed at least once a week. You will be given the house key and the host is there to offer help and advice as well as to take an interest in your physical and mental health. Acmodation Zones Homestays are located in London mainly in Zones 2, 3 and 4 of the transport system. Most hosts do not live in the town center as much of central London is mercial and not residential. Zones 3 and 4 often offer larger acmodation in a less crowded area. It is very convenient to travel in London by underground. Meal Plans Available *Continental Breakfast  *Breakfast and Dinner *Breakfast Packed Lunch and Dinner It’s important to note that few English families still provide a traditional cooked breakfast. Your acmodation includes Continental Breakfast which normally consists of fruit juice, cereal, bread and tea or coffee. Cheese, fruit and cold meat are not normally part of a Continental Breakfast in England. Dinners usually consist of meat or fish with vegetables followed by dessert, fruit and coffee. Friends If you wish to invite a friend over to visit, you must first ask your host’s permission. You have no right to entertain friends in a family home as some families feel it is an invasion of their privacy. Self Catering Acmodation in Private Homes Acmodation on a room-only basis includes shared kitchen and bathroom facilities (设施) and often a main living room. This kind of acmodation offers an independent lifestyle and is more suitable for the long-stay student. However, it does not provide the same family atmosphere as an ordinary homestay and may not benefit those who need to practice English at home quite as much. 63.
