and agriculture,Chimpanzee,Nowadays, they face the threat in the form of hunting, their habitats were destroyed by humans and are also held for trading purpose,Leopards,Leopard are found in sub Saharan countries and also to the west of the Kalahari desert.People hunt them for the beautiful fur,Addax,It is a kind of antelope. They are capable of surviving in desert areas.Addax is a animal which walks in the night,Ethiopian Wolf,There is no other wolf found in the sub Saharan area, except for the Ethiopian wolf.,Striped Hyena,These dog-like animals live in the grasslands of East and North Africa.Their body parts are used for medicinal purpose,so humans haunt them for profit.,Ostrich,Ostrich is the biggest bird of all.In olden days, their feathers were in great demand, which lead to ostrich-hunting on a large scale.,The reason why so much animal become endangered in Africa,Habitat Destruction Pollution Overuse,Habitat,Destruction,Habitat destruction happens everyday. The destruction of the rain forest causes thousands of species to be without home;the oil spill in the Gulf is causing hundreds of species to migrate away, many of them away from the only home they know;pollution and global warming is changing environments, causing many species to find a new niche and a new home. The bottom line is this-the more we create, the more we disrupt, and the more homes and species we consequently, destroy.,Pollution,Pollution is more of an invisible poison, something can take years before the effects become noticeable.Take global warming, for example.Weve been polluting the atmosphere for decades and its only recently that weve deemed it has a massive problem. The greenhouse effect is causing temperatures worldwide to rise, and this is changing habitats around the world,Overuse,Forests and grasslands produce vital oxygen and provide homes for people and wildlife. Many of the Africa most threatened and endangered animals live in forests and grassland, and 1.6 billion people rely on benefits forests and grasslands offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter.Recent years, people reclaim grassland for farming, they also cut down many trees, destroy the forest.,Defender of,wildlife ACF(African,Conservation Foundation,),AWF(African Wildlife,Foundation)WRR(Wildlife rescue&rehabilitation),CWAPC(The Captive Wild Animal Protection Campaign),Organization,Defender,of wildlife,The organization was originally called Defenders of Fur Bearers and its mission was focused on,North American, mammals.Today, the organizations mission is broader and includes preservation and, conservation, actions concerning both animals and plants, and wild life habitat protection. The organization advocates the,Endangered Species Act,of 1973 through lobbying and use of the U.S.legal system in order to protect the remaining,Endangered species,.The organization houses offices in the,United States,Canada, and,Mexico, and the headquarter for the Defenders of Wild Life is based in,Washington,D.C.,U.S.,ACF(African Conservation Foundation,),ACF works together with a large number of different partners to achieve its mission, including other NGOs,governmental organisations, companies, researchers and local communities. It conducts field projects in close collaboration with local partners, building in-country capacity by providing technical and, fundraising, support. The organisation is involved in wildlife conservation, great apes, conservation(,Cross River Gorilla,Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzee,),habitat and, tropical forest, conservation. It is also running tree planting and, reforestation, programmes in,Kenya, and,Cameroon,.,AWF(African Wildlife Foundation),When founded in 1961,the purpose was to train Africans to maintain game reserves professionally, ensuring an adequate supply of game for hunters on safari.Later, the mandate evolved to supporting western scientists in studies of protected animals in their natural habitat.More recently, the focus has been on developing sustainable systems that benefit both animals and local human communities.,The AWF has always been constrained by funding, earning less than US$20 million in the year ending 30 June 2009.While supporting education and other programs, the main focus of the AWF is now on assisting development of nine heartlands, large ecologically important areas that typically span national boundaries. These are home to endangered or threatened species that include Western African Giraffes, mountain gorillas, bonobos,Grevys zebras, white rhinos and elephants.,WRR(Wildlife rescue&rehabilitation,),Wildlife Rescue&Rehabilitation began as the vision of a young woman Lynn Cuny in her mid-twenties in 1977 in San Antonio,Texas.Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release native wildlife and to provide sanctuary, individualized care, and a voice for other animals in need.WRR rescues and cares for all wildlife, including native and non-native species. They believe that all animals rare or common, regardless of species are deserving of our care, attention, and respect.,CWAPC(The Captive Wild Animal Protection Campaign),The,Captive Wild Animal Protection Campaign(CWAPC)was originally founded as the Captive Wild Animal Protection Coalition in 2002 to address the issues surrounding the growing US trade in captive wildlife. The organization works to end the exploitation and suffering of wild animals in captivity by educating the American public, policy makers and media on possession, use and trade through sound research and accurate, compelling data. The Captive Wild Animal Protection Campaign envisions a world where wild animals are not kept as pets or used for entertainment or commercial purposes, and live free from commercial exploitation.,How to protect wildlife,1.Protect,Wildlife Habitat,2,.Join a Conservation Organization,3,.Reduce the Threat of Invasive Species,4,.Minimize use of Herbicides and
