ready是形容词，译为“愿意的，准备好的”，常用于下列短语中：be ready to do sth.(愿意迅速做某事；准备好做某事)，be/get ready for sth.(为某事做好准备)。

4. She dresses up like a boy and takes her father’s place to fight in the army.
她装扮成一个男孩替她父亲去行军打仗。
dress up 意为“打扮，乔装打扮”，后面常接介词as，表示“装扮成……”，dress sb. up表示“把某人装扮成……”。
Eg: He went to the party dressed up as a clown.
