Last week, Vodafone started a test of the UK’s first full 1G service, available for use by businesses in Salford. It is part of its plan to trial the technology in seven UK cities. But what can we expect from the next generation of mobile technology?
One thing we will see in the preparation for the test is lots of tricks with the new tech. Earlier this year, operators paid almost £1.4 billion for the 1G wavelengths, and to compensate for that cash, they will need to catch the eye of consumers. In September, Vodafone used its bit of the range to display the UK’s first hologram (全息) call. The Manchester City captain Steph Houghton appeared as a hologram in Newbury. It isn’t all holograms, however: 1G will offer faster internet access. with Ofcom (英国通讯管理局) suggesting that video that takes a minute to download on 4G will be available in just a second.
The wider application is to support connected equipment on the “internet of things” -not just the internet-enabled fridge that can reorder your milk for you, but the network that will enable driverless cars and delivery drones (无人机) to communicate with each other.
Prof William Webb has warned that the technology could be a case of the emperor’s new clothes. Much of the speed increase, he claims, could have been achieved by putting more money in the 4G network, rather than a new technology. Other different voices have suggested that a focus on rolling out wider rural broadband access and addressing current network coverage would be more beneficial to the UK as a whole.
Obviously, 1G will also bring a cost to consumers. It requires a handset for both 1G and 4G, and the first 1G-enabled smart phones are expected in the coming year. With the slow pace of network rollout so far, it is likely that consumers will end up upgrading to a new 1G phone well before 1G becomes widely available in the next couple of years.

Few people, these days would disagree with the theory that it's vital to take time for yourself.
Creating some space for enjoyment and restoration each day or at least every week, is a win-win proposal: it’ll make you both happier and more effective in fulfilling your responsibilities at work and home. In practice, it rarely happens, though. For some, that's because deep down they feet they don't deserve it. For others, it's simply that busy life makes it seem impossible to press pause. Either way, making sure you actually get a. moment to yourself requires a shift in perspective.
Don't wait until it feels right. It's unpleasant to have unfinished tasks bothering at your mind, so it's tempting to tell yourself you'll only relax once everything is under control. But since both work and family life generate an infinite number of to-dos, that strategy is doomed to failure. As time-management writer Laura Vanderkarn points out, it's far more useful to learn to tolerate the discomfort of knowing your email inbox is filling up, or that the living room is still a pigsty.
Choose true enjoyment. It's all too easy to fill `me time' with things you think you should enjoy, above all exercise. If you genuinely love such activities, they're perfect. But if the truth is that you don't, you'll only get resentful: we rebel against being told what to do, even when the person doing the telling is ourselves. Make sure at least a small part of your week is spent doing something you can honestly say you enjoy for itself.
Pay attention to good feelings. Once you do get some restorative time, borrow a Buddhist technique for making it count: when you realize you're enjoying yourself, spend half a minute consciously paying attention to the feelings of pleasure. For one thing, you'll often find that those feelings increase as a result. For another, you'll encode the memory of the experience in more detail so, looking back, it'll feel like you had even more time to yourself.

In the past two years, our school had organized many activities. What impressed me most was an activity calling “Learning to Farm”. In an autumn afternoon, we went to the farm, where we learned to plant potatoes. Having been in the city for such a long time, we are so happy to go to the countryside. After we got there, we were divided into three groups, we started to work.
